BE WARNED: CHEESINESS ARRIVES THIS CHRISTMAS
Bridgerton will start December 25th
Well, I will be honest people as usual: this looks like the trashiest trashy trash but I guess we shouldn't be surprised since it comes from Shonda Rhimes who is famous for presenting us with tasteless small screen garbage. These new posters and trailer look so cheesy that, while watching the trailer, I kept expecting to hear laughing track because I thought it was some kind of parody. I guess it wasn't supposed to be. Of course, the book series by Julia Quinn, on which BRIDGERTON the series is based, has such a strong fandom, I don't think it will have any problem finding its viewers no matter how silly and offensive it looks. Based largely on Quinn's first novel in the series, The Duke and I, the first season is tracking the story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), as she embarks on a fake courtship with Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé Jean Page). Beset by influence from Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and societal pressures, Daphne and Simon turn to each other to try to beat the ton at their own game. But things get complicated when their fauxmance starts to

At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family. Comprised of eight close knit siblings (each of them has one of the eight novels set between 1813 and 1827 dedicated too

  1. I didn’t think it looked too terrible. Not the best, but not totally unwatchable. Then again, I never read the books so what do I know?

    1. I'm wondering what we will be watching after January, given that so many series have not finished or even started productions. I'm guessing I will go international as I did this Autumn.
