WILD MOUNTAIN THYME romantic movie by
John Patrick Shanley, about the headstrong farmer Rosemary Muldoon (
Emily Blunt) who has her heart set on winning her neighbour Anthony Reilly's love. The problem is Anthony (
Jamie Dornan) seems to have inherited a family curse, and remains oblivious to his beautiful admirer. Stung by his father Tony's (
Christopher Walken) plans to sell the family farm to his American nephew (
Jon Hamm), Anthony is jolted into pursuing his dreams in this comedic, moving and wildly romantic tale. The movie is out in USA December 11th!
I'm all in on Wild Mountain Thyme! Love me some Emily Blunt, although she's unrecognizable in the trailer. Isn't Jamie Dornan Irish? How can mess up his native accent?

DeleteOh my, the accents are horrid! I thought the same thing about Jamie being Irish. How the hell can he not nail the accent?
ReplyDeleteLike in many other countries, different corners have different accents, northern ones are usually totally different from the southern ones as in this case. In my country, us from the north usually don't understand the ones from the absolute south :) The question is more - why did the director not choose Irish actors. Walken is the worst in the trailer.
DeleteWe definitely have northern and southern accents here. Sometimes we can't understand the southerner language. However, growing up in both north and south, I can take on both. Mostly I'm northern, but when I'm pissed or overly excited, the twang comes out LOL.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why Irish actors weren't cast in the roles as well. Unless they were just trying to draw in viewers with big names.
Emily does draw audiences big time! I think most people in USA want her in a superhero role, I don't.
DeleteI don't see her as a superhero. She's more of your girl next door, down to earth woman and that's what I like most about her. She's relatable.
