EMILY BLUNT & DWAYNE JOHNSON TO PLAY A SUPERHERO COUPLE IN BALL AND CHAIN ADAPTATION? ABC MOVES UNITED WE FALL SITCOM TO AUTUMN?

'BALL AND CHAIN' ADAPTATION
TO REUNITE EMILY BLUNT WITH DWAYNE THE ROCK JOHNSON
After we see them together in Disney's Jungle Cruise, it seems Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson will team up again in the movie adaptation of comic books BALL AND CHAIN, most likely for Netflix! The superhero romantic comedy would see them playing a bickering couple as they approach three years of a tumultuous marriage. The couple, Edgar and Mallory Bulson,

have made the difficult decision to throw in the towel and get divorced. But then a mysterious meteor bathes the battling couple in extraterrestrial energies, energies that give them super abilities. Abilities that only work when the couple is together. Will their newfound powers be enough to make their marriage work?

Second Act and Man with a Plan, ABC is looking to save their new sitcom UNITED WE FALL for Autumn even though it was originally planned for midseason as they will need already finished series in the middle of corona production lockdowns.

UNITED WE FALL follows the trials and tribulations of Jo (Christina Vidal) and Bill (Will Sasso), parents of two young kids, as they try to make it day-to-day as a functioning family. Bill’s very judgemental live-in mother (Jane Curtin) and Jo’s large Latinx Catholic family will never hesitate to let our couple know

they’re seemingly screwing up, but Bill and Jo will always have each other’s backs, united against everyone – other parents, teachers, doctors, specialists, coaches, co-workers, and especially their kids.

  1. Carol's Second Act got cancelled already? BOOO!

Both of these sound fun. I don't know if I buy Emily and Dwayne as a couple, but they are both adorable in their own right. We'll just have to wait and see if there is chemistry on screen.

    1. I knew it would happen, but I'm still sad about it, it was such a sweet little gem in last year's poor sitcom offer and the crew developed nice chemistry towards the end, it had potential for more seasons, they just needed to put it in Monday nights. Indebted will most likely die too, I'm glad at least Neighborhood gets a third season, but it airs on Mondays so it has good ratings. The worst was Broke - got cancelled after just two or three aired episodes LOL tragicomical. It will be so sad spending summer with no new sitcoms, only Fuller House returns for the final ever episodes.

  2. Emily Blunt and The Rock are two of my all time favorites! I'll tune into to (almost) anything that they star in. I'm not sure about United we Fall. Everyone seems to think they know all and are a judge these days. I can see myself getting annoyed with the show instead of laughing at it.

    1. I hope it won't be annoying but fun, there is not many family sitcoms out there.

    2. This is true. We still watch Everybody Loves Raymond reruns here for some lighthearted laughs when we're in the mood.

    4. I never got around to watching the first. How was it? I feel like streaming services are doing better than regular TV stations these days. None of us can afford the $200 a month for cable anymore.

    5. It was lovely and it progressed nicely as the episodes went on. Don't you have regular roof aerials for five major networks over there? CBS is not a cable channel as far as I know.
