SARAH LANCASHIRE, TOM HOLLANDER, ISABELLA ROSSELLINI TO LEAD HBO'S TV SERIES ON FAMOUS TV COOK JULIA CHILD!

  'JULIA' HBO MAX SERIES
FINDS JULIA CHILD & HER CREW
Sarah Lancashire will take the lead role
A few months ago your trusted spy informed you that Joan Cusack will play legendary TV cook Julia Child in a pilot for a series which would air at HBO Max, but now they've opted for another actress and added a whole cast as well. Sarah Lancashire will now play JULIA with Tom Hollander and Isabella Rossellini also in the cast.

The Story Of Julia is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her show The French Chef, which essentially invented food television. Through Julia and her singular can-do spirit, it explores an evolving time in American history – the emergence of a new social institution called public television, feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity, and America’s cultural growth. At its heart, the show is a portrait of a marriage with an evolving and complicated power dynamic.
Who Else Is In The Cast?
Beside Last Tango in Halifax's star Sarah Lancashire as Julia herself,  Tom Hollander will play Paul Child, Julia’s loving and devoted husband. Brittany Bradford will play Alice, associate producer of the show I’ve Been
Tom Hollander and Fran Kranz will star as her husband and her producer
Reading who champions Julia after her appearance. Fran Kranz will play Russ, producer on the show I’ve Been Reading who begrudgingly joins Julia’s cooking show. Fiona Glascott will play Judith, the visionary editor with a knack for pulling manuscripts out of the reject pile and turning them into
Fiona Glascott and Bebe Neuwirth will also star in the new series
bestsellers. Bebe Neuwirth will play Avis, Julia’s biggest champion, confidant and best friend. Isabella  Rossellini will guest star as Simca, Julia’s co-author. Jefferson Mays will guest star as Albert, the host of WGBH’s I’ve Been Reading. Party of Fives' Chris Keyser will be the show runner.

  1. I misread that actor's name as Tom HOLLAND and thought "Jeez, isn't he a little young to be cast in that?"

    1. This one is much more famous than Holland. Hollander worked successful when Holland wasn't even born.

  2. I'm not sure if she'll be able to top Meryl Streep. I'm not familiar with these actors, but Meryl Streep is one of my favorites. :)

    1. I think that, unlike Meryl, Sarah will go for realistic not comical, she does look like Julia with her blue eyes.

  3. I was going to skip it if Joan was the lead, but may watch it now with the new cast. I just cannot stand Joan Cusack, so I'm glad she's out!

    1. I haven't watched Sarah in anything, but she is probably good since she is British and they have the best of thespians. Brits like to give roles to their middle aged actresses as they have tons of talent. I wish Polly Walker and Orla Brady and Sarah Parish would get more roles beside Keeley Hawes who is the star of every show in UK, deservedly. I don't like American middle aged actresses, though, Laura Dern, Robin Wright, Susan Sarandon, don't like any of them.

  4. I've actually watched Fran Kranz before, in some weird horror movie and great (also weird) TV show starring Eliza Dushku, called Dollhouse.
