Guernsey hits Netflix next Month!
Now, this one already played in cinemas this April in May around Europe and Asia, but it is hitting Netflix August 10th so I don't want you to miss it! THE GUERNSEY LITERARY AND POTATO PEEL PIE SOCIETY is a big screen adaptation of the popular novel by Annie Barrows and Mary Ann Shaffer starring our dearest hunks Glen Powell, Michiel Huisman and Matthew Goode next to acting legends Penelope Wilton, Tom Courtenay and actresses Jessica Brown Findlay and Lily James.


THE GUERNSEY STORY

Juliet she goes to visit the island, making lifelong friends and taking life changing steps along the way by becoming an adulteress who cheats on her
The movie was produced by our beloved StudioCanal
loving fiancee with one of the locals. It is a beautiful story of love, friendship and the sadness of friends lost in the aftermath of World War II.

  2. I've read about this romantic drama in the blog of an english woman. She found it rather sweet.

    Potato peels has for me a very negative association. My mother (rip) used to eat potatoe peels in the ukrainian exile village during the war, and she felt lucky she got them.

    1. Yes, our people ate potato peels and rotten potatoes and even leather boots during the war, today's kids don't really know what hunger is :(
      During US and foreign embargo on my country in early 90s I remember we did not have basic things like oil, flour, sugar and petrol. Luckily, I myself grew up on a farm, so we coped, but not everybody had, sadly.

  3. I will be sure to add it to my Netflix queue this August. There isn't much interesting on Netflix these days, but I have been obsessed with the baking shows they have on there. I just finished season 1 of Zumbo's Just Desserts and gained about 50 pounds just dreaming about the yummy creations they made there!
