MARION COTILLARD
IN 'MAL DE PIERRES' ROMANCE
According to 'Variety' gorgeous and sensual French star Marion Cotillard (who is finishing MACBETH with Michael Fassbender) has signed on to star in Nicole Garcia's new period romance drama MAL DE PIERRES. It will be a big screen adaptation of Milena Agus’ bestselling eponymous novel set after WWII, in which the stories spans 20 years, following the destiny of a passionate, free-spirited woman who is in a loveless marriage and falls for another man. Marion is also lending her voice together with James Franco and Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro, Ricky Gervais and Paul Giamatti in THE LITTLE PRINCE animated movie about a pilot who crashes in the desert and meets a little boy from a distant planet.

NICHOLAS SPARKS'
'THE CHOICE' MOVIE ADAPTATION
Only last week we've seen the first trailer for the big screen adaptation of Nicholas Sparks's novel THE BEST OF ME, and now the news is that his book THE CHOICE has been sold for an adaptation too! Lionsgate will make a movie out of his 2007 bestseller which tells the story of a long love affair that begins when the couple first met as neighbours in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. It spans a decade and traces the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events. A movie on Sparks' THE LONGEST RIDE novel is already in works following a story of a man who is dying in a car crash. As he remembers his old love while dying, another love story between a young couple goes on nearby.

Speaking of book adaptations, check out the first pictures from the new movie based on Gustave Flaubert's famous classic MADAME BOVARY! Starring Mia Wasikowska, Rhys Ifans, Paul Giamatti, Logan Marshall Green, and Ezra Miller, this period set drama tells the tragic story of Emma (Mia Wasikowska), a young beauty who impulsively marries a small-town doctor in order to leave her father’s pig farm behind. But after being introduced to the glamorous world  of high society, she soon becomes bored with her stodgy mate and seeks excitement and status outside the bonds of marriage. Sophie Bartes directed the movie which is currently in postproduction.

    2. Very cool.

Just came by to say thanks. Just finished my Friday Question for tomorrow. Cucakes vs. Muffins. That's for the idea.

And now, I'm going to get a few chores done before Hubby gets home. Then when I'm done, it's to the Movie Room to watch the last of THE NANNY, on DVD.

Thanks again, Dezzy. Cheers and boogie boogie.

    3. I'm defending the theory that muffins are just sponge and cupcakes are when you top them with icing :) Therefore the name - cup sized cakes.

    4. I can understand your point of view. For me, it's more a cupcake is airy and lighter in the bake and a muffin, denser and containing fruit or nuts or nothing, but overall a denser bake.

Frosting, I put on both or on none. I'm not a big big frosting/icing person, per se. Though I once made this orange cream cheese frosting. Holy cow, really really good.

Thanks for the tips on the sil stuff. I almost bought a Valentine one last year. All little hearts, but again, the smell. I had to pass.

    5. Just back from being out. We hit Barnes and then Wally. I didn't see any silicone stuff there, today. They redid their entire bake area.

Was nice though. Tim had a half-day.

    6. they're probably cheaper to order over the net. We buy them at Chinese stores usually since everything is made in China these days....

    7. It used to be harder for me to find stuff, not from China, but I'm noticing a difference in the store near me. Less China.

  7. I've watched/read one too many Nicolas Sparks stories over the years to know better. Spoiler alert: Someone's gonna die. Probably the main male character. I got frustrated with it. I'm sure that's probably how The Fault in Our Stars ends, too...but I'm powering through because I'm told it's the best book in existence.

  11. Crazy how every Sparks novel gets made into a movie. He's definitely pulling in the dough now! I wonder when "The Rescue" will be made into a movie? I think that was one of my favorites of his.

  13. Wow, Nicholas Sparks is creating a library of romantic movies. It makes me think about having a Nicholas Sparks love story movie marathon. Perfect for Valentine's Day. TV should consider doing that. :)
