THIRD HOBBIT MOVIE RETITLED INTO 'THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES'! LUPITA NYONGO, SCARLETT JOHANSSON FOR 'THE JUNGLE BOOK'! 'FLASH GORDON' REMAKE! RIDLEY SCOTT'S 'PHARAOH' EPIC TV SERIES AT HBO

 THE JUNGLE BOOK GETS
LUPITA NYONGO AND SCARLETT JOHANSSON?
We've already informed you that Warner Bros. is preparing new version of THE JUNGLE BOOK which will be a mixture of CGI and live action movie, but now 'The Hollywood Reporter' writes that Scarlett Johansson and Lupita Nyongo might join the cast which already has Idris Elba! Rudyard Kipling's story centres on Mowgli, a young boy who is raised in the wilderness by a pack of wolves, a bear and a black panther. Scarlett Johansson might lend her voice to Kaa, a python who eats other animals after hypnotizing them. Idris Elba is lending his voice to villainous Shere Khan who views Mowgli as a threat to his domain. Lupita Nyongo is currently negotiating to voice Rakcha, a mother wolf who takes care of Mowgli! Disney is also preparing their rival project helmed by Andy Serkis!

 FLASH GORDON
TO GET NEW MOVIE REMAKE!
Another famous story which is getting a new big screen version is beloved sf epic FLASH GORDON! 20th Century Fox has secured the rights and is eyeing STAR TREK III writers  J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay to prepare the script. There were previous rumours that Sam Worthington might be the star who will portray  the Yale graduate and polo player FLASH GORDON who is kidnapped and taken to the planet Mongo, where he fights against evil emperor Ming the Merciless alongside his friends Dale Arden and Hans Zarkov. Rumours say that the new film will bring adventure and razor's edge escapades, balanced by plenty of character work.
3RD HOBBIT RETITLED INTO 'THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES'
In other epic news, the latest news is that the third HOBBIT movie has been officially retitled into THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES instead of the rumoured title INTO THE FIRE! The movie will battle its way into cinemas this December starring Luke Evans, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ian McKellan, Orlando Bloom, Lilly Evangeline, Lee Pace and it will feature the glorious battle waged between the Goblins and the Wargs against Men of Dale, Elves, Dwarves, Eagles and a Shape-shifter on and near the Lonely Mountain.

 HBO GETS 'PHARAOH' SHOW
 RIDLEY SCOTT TO DIRECT
And while we are waiting for Fox to premiere their Ancient Egypt TV series HIEROGLYPH 'Deadline' reports that HBO has bought hourlong series PHARAOH from David Schulner (DRACULA, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES). To be produced and directed by  Ridley Scott  the series explores an alternate explanation for the foundation and ascent of the ancient Egyptian empire — one in which greatness was bestowed upon us by beings from another world, calling into question what it means to be a god! I've also recently reported that Spike TV will make KING TUT mini series on famous Pharaoh Tutankhamun!

  1. Seems like everything is a remark or reboot of something these days. PHARAOH sounds interesting and we all love the Hobbits.

    1. I'm so excited about the new Egyptian shows coming to the small screens since we've never had those so far!

  2. Wait, so what you are saying there are other Hobbit films out there... isn't it only one book. I really need to look into this madness, someone ought to call Peter Jackson and let him know. :)

    1. Or maybe you don't... as much as I love the cast, both HOBBIT movies were lifeless lacking in love and magic that LOTR had.... Drawn out and rather boring pace

    2. I describe the first Hobbit... We are walking, in the second Hobbit... We are running. In the third it will be... We are greedy!

    3. I hope that at least the battle scenes will be epic.... but I don't cherish any hope that they might beat LOTR battles

  3. New name same game..I have enjoyed the Hobbit films, but not as much as the original LOTR.
I grew up watching the 1942 Jungle Book with Sabu. I liked it better than the animated one. I hope they do well I do like Andy Serkis.

    1. it seems that Peter Jackson is incapable to make a good movie outside LOTR and proofs are HOBBIT and KING KONG.

    2. One name on King Kong...Jack Black!

    3. yep... not that Naomi Watts was any better :)

  4. Good call on renaming the 3rd hobbit movie. "Into the Fire" is too reminiscent of the whole Mount Doom theme in LOTR.

    1. it was originally supposed to be called THERE AND BACK AGAIN, but since the mission was half done in the second one, they switched to the new name

    2. There and Back Again is the only appropriate title. Anything else is just Hollywood sell out hogwash.

    3. welll they have to tickle our imagination and the first one was rather nonticklish :)

    4. My feelings about these movies are fairly strong and it's about integrity. This book needed no help from Hollywood as it stood on it's own two feet for generations. But the new fake wannabee nerds like to align themselves with The Hobbit and LOTR in order to fool themselves into thinking they are part of a subculture that really doesn't want them in the first place. These people dilute nerd culture by bringing it down to their level of mediocrity.

    5. that is true, dear! Most of the fans of HOBBIT movies are in there because they drool over some of the actors,,, not because the book means anything to them... and not because they have a genuine nerdy need to escape reality and find haven in fantasy worlds...

    6. I can just agree with both of you !
The Battle of the Five Armies is only one chapter of the book, just an episode of the Adventures of Bilbo Baggins !
What could think about a film director who don't know the tittle of the movie he's doing ?? looks fool for me ..
I hope that he have read the scenario before ...

  7. I haven't seen The Hobbit and I don't feel inclined to do so anytime soon. PJ should have marketed the movies as "A story loosely based on the magnificent book by J.R.R. Tolkien"

Pharaoh does look intriguing and I hope it's a good one. I

    1. you should see it just for the actors and for the visual aspect of it, but the direction and the dynamics within the story are really bad. And I'm extremely sad to say it :(

    2. Welcome Anne in the Club !
not necessary to see the P.J. movies about a book he have never read !

(and Blanco/Shadowfax is dead and her owner need money to recover all the money she loosed for treating the horse ! PJ have no money for helping her ! it's our fault ... shame on us !)

      Delete
    3. I won't watch it out of principal, what he did was wrong and I won't financially reward him for it.

Sam Wise-It was so sad to hear of Blanco's passing. What a magnificent animal. I'm not really surprised at PJ's unwillingness to help as he has shown himself to be a shameless panderer.

      Delete
    4. I remember many reports of animals dying at the set of the film.... quite a lot of horses if I remember correctly

      Delete
    5. Did they? That's wretched and I'm wondering if the laws in NZ aren't as strict about animals as they are in the US. There are limits to how long they can be on set and what you do with them. And if one dies, you've got some explaining to do.

      Delete
    6. yep, I remember about dozen of horses dead on the set, but I don't know how that case ended and what caused their demise....

      Delete
    7. Some precisions: Blanco is dead of a bad disease (cancer ?) and he was not in the Hobbit, I think ... (but who knows ? ).
For the animals dead during the Hobbit, it was not on the shooting but in their "farms" and it's not proved yet.. (but probable ...)

Honesty, I don't know if PJ have subscribed or not for Blanco.. my opinion is just that this subscription should have never existed !

  8. Wow !! "Battle of the 5 Armies" !! such a good tittle !
I don't know how the genius P.J. could have fund it ... °_°
seriously (hum...), I've not seen the 2nd movie so I don't think that I will see the 3rd one! thanks Master P.J.: I've saved money for buying some figures to paint ....

Don't like the title "Battle of the 5 Armies". Methinks Hobbit 3 would be better. Call me old-fashioned ...

    2. Yay! Me too. Dezzy. I can't seem to get enough of Egypt and its history :)

    3. I will be deeply disappointed if they turn out bad.... I've been disapointed with a lot of historical shows lately .... actually with most of them.... I've ditched VIKINGS, BLACK SAILS and GAME OF THRONES... too boring or too violent... and I'm only watching DA VINCI'S DEMONS and REIGN right now :(

      Delete
    4. Typical of today's viewing unfortunately is violence. And I'm getting sick to death of it too. It's just boring and unnecessary :(

Have a good weekend, Dezzy :)

    3. we do like food magazines. But here in my country the only good ones are the ones which publish readers' recipes. Both magazines and books are abnormally expensive here so I only follow food blogs

      Delete
    4. Sorry to hear they are abnormally expensive. That stinks. What are the readers' recipes like?

      Delete
    5. the same goes for cooking books (I don't even have any because they're usually four to five times more expensive than normal books).
Readers' recipes are usually good, practical and usable :)
