Here's news on yet another of historical projects: Netflix has announced Lorenzo Richelmy (BORGIA) as the lead star of their new historical series MARCO POLO! The ten episode drama will also have Benedict Wong ('Prometheus'), Zhu Zhu ('Cloud Atlas'), Tom Wu ('Skyfall'), Remy Hii ('Treading Water') and Rick Yune ('Fast and Furious') in the cast. The show will tell the true story of the world’s greatest storyteller, an epic and cinematic adventure of high politics, masterful manipulation and deadly warfare. Young MARCO POLO finds himself at the centre of a brutal war between two empires in 13th century China, replete with close combat, romance and sexual intrigue, religious tension, political skulduggery and spectacular battles.

Today you can also check out the first promo art for Fox' upcoming Ancient Egypt new series HIEROGLYPH which is currently shooting in New Mexico. Following  a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah, navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers, the show will star Max Brown, Jonathan Rhys Davies, Reece Ritchie!

While NOAH is fighting floods currently in cinemas you can check out new images from another epic of Biblical proportions - EXODUS GODS AND KINGS depicting Christian Bale in his war gear as Moses and Joel Edgerton under make up as Pharaoh Rhamses! Directed by Ridley Scott and arriving to theatres this December, the movie also stars Aaron Paul as Joshua, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro as Seti and Tuya, Egyptian rulers, and Ben Kingsley! The movie is an interpretation of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt as led by Moses and related in the Bible book of Exodus.

    1. I expect it to be very exotic and they want to make it really luxurious and expensive which is why Starz gave up on it since they already have expensive DA VINCI'S DEMONS

    1. yep, he isn't really a Biblical type :) He was supposed to be Noah before Russell took over the role, so he became Moses instead

    1. I do have an understanding for the ban of certain films in the Middle East, tones of them are deeply disrespectful and like to bend facts and history. I'm for example always deeply disgusted when a US movie has a Russian or a Muslim for a villain
