FIRST SPECTACULAR TRAILER AND SPOTLIGHT ON HISTORICAL EPIC ADVENTURE 'HERCULES THE LEGEND BEGINS' WITH KELLAN LUTZ, LIAM MCINTYRE, JOHNATHON SCHAECH, DIRECTED BY RENNY HARLIN

HERCULES THE LEGEND
BEGINS TRAILER IS HERE!
Here it is, here it is, people, the first exciting and super spectacular trailer for upcoming epic adventure HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS starring famous heartthrob Kellan Lutz! The first trailer for the sprawling epic has been shown earlier this weekend at New York Comic Con! Nu Image/ Millenium big budget film following the adventures of the famous demigod from the ancient legends should hit the big screens in March next year crossing swords with another hugely anticipated historical extravaganza - 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE.

THE STORY OF HERCULES
 EVERY MAN HAS A DESTINY
Directed by famous action director Renny Harlin (CLIFFHANGER, DIE HARD 2, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT) this historical movie will see hunky Kellan Lutz as a mythological hero in the love story between the Greek demigod Hercules and the mortal princess of Crete played by Gaia Weiss! It is the story of a young man who comes to terms with who he is and how he has much more responsibility. His father is Zeus and his mother was mortal, and he has a much bigger mission in his life. It’s about fulfilling your destiny and responsibilities. It’s an epic adventure in which Hercules tries to get reunited with the girl who was ripped away from him.

THE CAST OF HERCULES
 HERCULES AND SPARTACUS
The $70 million epic HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS will also have television star Liam McIntyre from SPARTACUS (playing young army captain Sotiris, who is initially an antagonist of the mythical hero Hercules. The two of them become close friends before being sold into slavery by a treacherous king), Luke Newberry as Agamemnon the king of Mycenae, Roxanne McKee as Queen Alcmene, Scott Adkins as King Amphitryon, Johnathon Schaech as Tarak, and Rade Serbedzia as centaur Chiron, in the cast.

HERCULES TIDBITS
UNSEEN EPIC BATTLE SCENES
The film, which opens up in cinemas next March, isn't the first project in which Kellan plays a mythological hero - he was Poseidon in Tarsem's epic IMMORTALS. Harlin didn't want Kellan to become too big in muscles for the role, but to only make his abs pop out more. The film was shot this summer down in Bulgaria! The director has revealed that the film contains a battle scene that lasts six minutes all one shot, covering a sea battle and ground battle and hand to hand combat and sword fighting, spears and bows and arrows and flying boulders!

  1. I can't help to think they borrowed a good bit of the elements from 300. I was waiting for someone to say "this is SPARTA!"

    1. well, people who aren't into epic movies tend to see 300 in everything, just like people who are unenlightened tend to scream HARRY PLOPPER when they see Maggie Smith or Ralph Fiennes....

  8. Oh. My. God. Kellan is so handsome.

I wish that some big studio would have the courage to make a gay Hercules story. Homosexuality is well documented in greek culture and I don't know why they can't have a story of the beautiful Hercules taking a male lover. It could focus perhaps on a teenaged Hercules who loves a beautiful boy and then goes off to kill some monster and do some godly thing and then comes home to have sex with his lover once in a while. I mean...that plot obviously would need a ton of work, and you'd need to hire great writers to make it legitimate and not have it come across as some gay porn story which it could easily become if you weren't careful.

    1. better make it a gay Spartan movie, Michael. As we all know most of the Spartan warriors had love relationship with their brothers in arms, sweet love among the warriors :) They even had a custom of giving young boys in puberty older patrons (usually hunky friends of the family or some other warriors) who trained them not just mentally, intellectually and physically, but they also had sexual intercourses with them because it was believed early sexual activities bring self-confidence.

    2. As much as that sounds wonderful, I don't think I've much cared for the Spartans historically. Their rigorous need to destroy inferior people goes against everything I believe in. I work with handicapped people on a daily basis, and I myself would have been fed to the wolves. So I think as beautiful as the Spartan men were, I just abhor their treatment of people. I guess it's too much to ask that we have a lovely film filled with lovely men who treat all people with respect.

    3. Ah, yes, that was a particularly disgusting part of their system - kicking out the disabled ones. Not that they treated the able ones any better. They used to kick their kids out of the house to live like beggars and thieves for a few years, and only those who survived such hardship were allowed to return to the city. Disgusting.
