HOLLYWOOD SPY SPOTLIGHT ON "THE WALKING DEAD" BOYS" ANDREW LINCOLN, STEVEN YEUN AND NORMAN REEDUS!

So, tell me how did you survive the last episode before the midseason break of the worldwide megapopular THE WALKING DEAD show? Did you scream when Michonne poked Governor's eye out? How do you feel about the new group joining Rick's people in the prison? Will Daryl and Merle escape or kill each other? Will Andrea continue to swoon over the evil Governor like a little girl? And do you agree that the Governor, with his morbid love for little zombie Penny, is still a better parent than Lori ever was? But before the finale of the 3rd season continues February 10th, let us do a spotlight on the boys from the show.
ANDREW LINCOLN
Do you remember the sweetest guy from LOVE ACTUALLY who involuntary falls in love with his best friend's girlfriend (that Knightley wench) and then appears at her doorstep to show her his love message
written on pieces of cardboard? Believe it or not that was our brave sheriff Rick from THE WALKING DEAD in his early romantic moments :) But he had other unexpected moments in his earlier career: before he became television's most famous zombie killer he actually loved to play full nude in films and you can Google his scantily clad self and see it for yourself :) I also bet that most of you didn't know that he is actually very British which means that he is very good with accents since he convincingly plays a southern American man in THE WALKING DEAD, maybe it's because he finished the famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London like many other British thespians. After LOVE ACTUALLY he actually did tones of TV work over in UK. Did you know that Apple, the daughter of Coldplay's Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, served as a flower girl at his wedding? Just like the character of good sheriff Rick from the zombie show, Andrew is an honourable man in his private life and is known for his charity work!

STEVEN YEUN
Now, if you follow HOLLYWOOD SPY regularly you already know that Steven Yeun's Glenn from THE WALKING DEAD is my favourite character in the
show: he is good, kind, honourable, always there to help, brave and also very loving towards his dear Maggie. Like a tiny sparkle of hope in the zombie infested doomed mankind.  Similarly to his friend Andrew Lincoln, Yeun also worked mostly on TV before his role in the zombie show: you've seen him in THE BIG BANG THEORY, in LAW AND ORDER, in WAREHOUSE. Steven was born in South Korea and when he and his family moved to USA he studied psychology at college before getting gigs in many TV commercials for Apple, Milky Way etc. Thanks to the worldwide success of THE WALKING DEAD he is hugely popular in Korea where they considered him their own Brad Pitt. There are gossips that he and Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, are an item off screen too.
NORMAN REEDUS
Beside Andrew Lincoln, Norman was probably the most famous name in the cast when the show started and he managed to become even more popular thanks to his role of Daryl, a farm boy with a warm heart who is not thinking twice when he has to use his crossbow. Before
the show he played in THE BOONDOCK SAINTS next to Sean Patrick Flanery, in BLADE II, in TV shows CHARMED and HAWAII FIVE O. And you all remember him from the lead role in Lady Gaga's video for her JUDAS hit song. This year he played in NIGHT OF THE TEMPLAR and in SUNLIGHT JR with Naomi Watts and Matt Dillon. And next year we shall watch him in PAWN SHOP CHRONICLES next to Brendan Fraser, Paul Walker, Elijah Wood, Vincent D'Onofrio and Thomas Jane, in a story about a missing wedding ring which leads to a wild-goose chase involving meth addicts, skinheads and an Elvis impersonator. The 43 year old was a Prada model in his youth,
and he has a son named Mingus with famous top model Helena Christensen. Did you know that back in 2005, while driving home from R.E.M. concert he had an accident leaving him without an eye (kinda like the Governor in the show) which is why he now has a titanium eye-socket!

  2. OH MY GOSH!!! Where to begin? So, did you know that Mr. Yeun grew up one town over from me?? Yep! I do love Glenn..especially with Maggie! You can feel the chemistry between them. However, there is a special place in my heart for Daryl. There is just something about that man. And when he is trending to the baby...swoooooon!

I am totally excited to see what the rest of the season brings. I am hoping for a gristly and violent demise for Andrea...she makes my head hurt with her dumb woman actions. Maybe the governor will turn into a Walker and feast on her flesh! He would be a pirate walker! Since I saw Daryl and not Merle in the preview, I'm hoping the hot hillbilly makes it through....unless I missed something. Though I do enjoy Michael Rooker, since he is such a great bad guy!

I could go on and on...

Oh, Michonne is a rock star...for now anyway!

    2. I did read that he grew up somewhere in USA after moving there from Korea :) We also love Daryl (when he is not hunting possums and squirells).
I have a feeling our group will lose most of the people which is why we had the appearance of the new bunch of people in the final episode before the mid-season. A
And what is that between Ricks and Hershell's daughter in the trailer above??? Me is shocked.

  3. Lol, I see I really MUST get on the Walking Dead bandwagon... I have yet to watch a single episode - unfortunately there are only so many hours in a day...!! I usually end up watching a lot of series after the fact. I recognize Steven Yeun from Big Bang - one of my favourites :)

    1. you might end up liking it, Jane :) Zombies aside, the show has amazing psychological and moral depths and that's the reason why I like it so much.

  4. Oh, Dezzy, I had to stop watching this show after fighting to finish the first season. I couldn't take all the brain splattering and blood anymore. I think I would have hung in there if it weren't so gruesome, because I did like the human stories. But...yuck.

Also, had no idea the sheriff actor is actually British.

    1. I'm also in it for the human stories and psychological dilemmas :) This is why I liked previous season more than this one. The third one is more gory and dymanic.

  5. I love reading all the back story on the men. I heard Andrew Lincoln in an interview once and was just as surprised hearing his accent for the first time as I was hearing Hugh Laurie's accent the first time. It was great! I'm going to have to come back later, the preview was giving me a hard time. It's the Zale's ad giving it fits. Grr!!

  6. Zombie movies freak me out, Dezz. I encounter them on a daily basis, so please forgive me while I avoid watching them on a screen as well. :)

  7. I think the 2nd part of the season will be far better. I thought the first part was a little slow and only got super interesting again near the end.

    1. it's true, there were slow moments, but then again there were only 6 episodes :( I will never understand why they make these mid-season breaks, hope it won't turn into a trend :(

  8. I've never seen the show. I shouldn't admit that lest I get lynched :)

    2. why, we would never lynch you, Annzie, we are civilized people, Melsy and me are, we will only throw you to the zombies :)

  9. Oh, Dezz this is a wonderful, wonderful spotlight!! High fives, fist bumps and huge hugs for doing this. :)

Did not know all that about Norman. WOW!! He sure looks hot with that bionic eye socket. :) Steven is awesome and he totally provides the hope in that crew. I am in love with how brave and badass he is, yet still retaining his humanity. Like he picked up where Dale left off. Poor Andrew having to fake it with Keira, then he gets Lori? Yikes, poor man can't win in his leading ladies. Hope he gets a movie role with Cate or Kate or Rachel, somebody stunning and talented.

    1. I knew you would like the tidbits on our boys :) Norman really had a crazy life so far. From bionic eye socket to Lady Gaga and a kid named Mingus... he could write a book :)
Poor Ricks, really didn't have luck with his women so far :(

  10. Dezzy you got some of my favorite people here today :) Blows my mind everytime I hear Andrew talking in his natural, smooth british voice. I could listen to him sweet talk for hours, his voice is amazing. He does southern bad-ass real well.
