HOLLYWOOD SPY FASHION REPORT FROM EMMY 2012 RED CARPET! THE BEST AND THE WORST DRESSED! NEW "THE HOBBIT" & "RISE OF THE GUARDIANS" POSTERS! 1ST PIC OF HUGH JACKMAN AS "WOLVERINE"

So, have you watched Emmy 2012 Awards this Sunday? I know, it was the same old boring event with the same winners every year, but at least the red carpet was more colourful than ever. Here's HOLLYWOOD SPY's fashion report.
THE YES YES
Tell me, who were your best dressed celebrities this year? I loved Nancy O'Dell in her breathtaking red gown with the golden bow across her shoulder, Ginnifer Goodwin also looked marvellous in her
delightful orange dress with amazingly matching shoes, while Jane Krakowski and Morena Baccarin looked refined and still sexy in their sleek greyish gowns. Julianne Hough brought colour to the red carpet in her gorgeous blue scaled gown looking like a mermaid,
Sofia Vergara knew she couldn't go wrong in a mindblowing Zuhair Murad piece, while Edie Falco looked ten years younger in that divine dress of hers.
THE SO SO
The ones I didn't like, nor hate, are Nicole Kidman, whose dress was truly lovely but was too short and made her look clumsy, Julianne
Moore was maybe a bit too mustardy, while Ashley Judd did have a nice dress but what's with the horrid Transylvanian hairdo?

THE NO NO
The list of the worst dressed at the Emmy 2012 is really long. Claire Danes is pregnant and she wanted to wear something comfortable, but that yellow bag is for groceries not for wearing, Emily Van Camp
was dressed in cobwebs, January Jones scared us with her makeup and Joker smile, Glenn Close is legendary in acting but should stop wearing Nancy Regan dresses, Elizabeth Moss never really had any
style. Two of the actresses whose acting I don't really understand showed me that I don't understand their outfits either - Zooey Deschanel and Michelle Dockery.

THE WOO HOO
Or the ladies with the big boobies! For my boys :) Christina Hendricks and Kat Dennings didn't really need to worry, they will always impress the crowd if they appear with a big cleavage at the red carpet.
HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
In short headlines today, I have two new posters to present to you: a lovely poster for RISE OF THE GUARDIANS (animated adventure which hits cinemas
this November and follows favourite children's heroes Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Jack Frost, The Sandman, and The Tooth Fairy, who have to fight against a nasty demon who wants to take the control over all the kids. The film includes voices from Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine) and the one for  THE HOBBIT: THE UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, this year's biggest epic fantasy which hits cinemas December 14th. The second poster shows Bilbo with his trusted sword.
You can also check out the first official photo of Hugh Jackman as the fury superhero in THE WOLVERINE which should hit theatres next July! Wolverine will be searching for his origins in Asia.

  2. I totally agree with you on the dresses. Why did Judd do her hair like that?

  3. I love those orange dresses! Not usually my color, but it looks so cheerful in comparison to the others. And, my god, Sofia Vergara is so freaking gorgeous, I'd sleep with her. :PP

And, uh, thanks for the Wolverine pic. :D *fans self*

    1. Orange is the colour of life, I'd always rather wear orange than red :)
Did you know that Sofia is in her fifth decade of life and has a grown up son? Utter craziness.

    2. Oh, red is always my favorite color. I like a dark garnet red. I would wear it every day, but then I would be the crazy red shirt lady. And, yes, I knew Sofia was around forty. She really is amazing looking. Also, I just read about her dress splitting open during the show. It's hard being a curvy girl. :PP

    3. I like red only when it is velvety :) and has that burning fire within it, but only in clothing, I don't like it in interior decoration for example.
It split open? Oh, where are the pics? :)

    4. Here you go. They don't really show much except her backside. :P

    6. I've seen it half an hour ago at Facebook, such delight :) I think she did it purposely, there's no way Murad would give her a dress which isn't sewn well, he's top heute couture designer who dresses princesses, queens and sheikas.

  4. Sofia Vergara is so very beautiful and so classy too. I also love how appreciative she is of her success. Edie Falco looks simply fabulous! Then again, she usually does.

    Yummy - Wolverine!

    1. yep, Edie surprised me too. I don't follow her career much, but she looked lovely last night

    2. I watched her when she was on Soprano's and she didn't do herself as much justice on that show as she does now. Not in scrubs, of course, but in real life.

      Delete
    3. I've noticed that she now stars in some show about a nurse who uses drugs, but I hate when they make such topics fun or entertaining so I refuse to watch it.

    4. I haven't seen the show myself so I can't speak about that show in particular. Having lived it, I don't mind watching it, as long as it's portrayed correctly and not glamorized as being acceptable. Then I have a problem with the show. I thought the show House did a good job with his battle with addiction. It was very realistic.

      Delete
    5. I've tried watching House, but he is so evil and rude and I don't like when they make such people look cool, but I know that many people love the show. It ended this season, yes?

  5. I go with the "simple, elegant" is better than "fluffy, frilly." So I agree with your gown choices. I think the gray one on the far right is the sharpest, and gray isn't the color I'd ordinarily choose. Guess I like the lines and of course the body that makes it look darned good.

    1. yep, I almost never like the colours that appear at the red carpet, it always more about the lines and the design and whether it fits the person.
Simple elegance is always the trademark of style icons :)

  6. Hi Dezzy - I think my favorite dress is the sea foam green Julianne Hough is wearing.

As for Zoey D, that girl cracks me up. But I think, like you, she doesn't understand either. At least that's what I gather from her expression. LOL

    Take care!

    1. Julianne Hough looked adorable in that dress, she was the belle of the evening :)
I can't stand Zooey's acting, it's extremely artificial and fabricated and irritating and I don't know why is she suddenly popular :)

  7. I think Glen Close looks haunted! Someone get her an exorcist!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. omg--Glen Close is LEGENDARY for her horrid taste in clothes--no surprise there. I'm really sad Nicole Kidman's dress wasn't a bit longer. I would've liked it! :D And that little Emily girl, too--if it had been a different color, yes?

As for your top pix, Oh, YES! I LURV Jane, Morena, and Sophia Viagra (as my husband calls her)--LOL! :D <3

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yep, Nicole's dress is such a waste, with those blue elven wings in the front part it could've been a glorious gown.
She really is Sofia Viagra :)

  9. Hum, I think there are only two dress that I like. Most of those look so unflattering on those ladies.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. yep, designers rarely try to fit the dresses onto their bodies, they just give them the first thing from their latest line :(

      Delete
  10. The Woo Hoo category is more than a little scary! Thankfully several of the ladies knew how to dress! :)

    ReplyDelete

    1. I'm sure the boys wouldn't agree :) although just a thought of maintaining such boobies is scary :(

      Delete
    2. I'm sure there's a host of men who'd be willing to help maintain those boobies :)

      Delete
    3. LOL I'm more than sure too :)

  11. Nancy was my favorite and Edie my second. Those gowns draped perfectly on their figures. The Emmy's and the BAFTA's have both become boring and predictable. And I generally get ticked off when they overlook something new that is truly good.

    Thank you for Hugh darling!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I've no idea who that Nancy is, but that dress was so lovely and so very in my design style, I'd only work a bit more on the quality of that golden bow.
I was especially ticked off by the fact that AMERICAN HORROR STORY gets awards, even though it is stunningly shallow, pointless and meaningless. Or when they gave Jeremy Irons an award for his atrocious role in BORGIAS, even though I like the actor in other projects. Or how they always award the same mediocre people.

      Delete
    2. I finally did get around to checking out Borgias and I couldn't stand it. The acting was horrible, they didn't even try to do the accents right. Jeremy is a good actor, but you know everyone stunk on this show.

I gave up on the Emmy's about 10 years ago and finally gave up on the BAFTA's last year when they overlooked Brendan O'Carroll and Mrs. Browns Boys. It's all insider politics anyway and you can almost bet on who will win.

      Delete
    3. it was atrocious, darling, although it did get better after the sixth episode of the first season when they switched the directors. But not good enough to make me wanna watch the second season. I'm currently watching WORLD WITHOUT END at Showcase Canada.

  12. Bilbo looks kinda grown for a hobbit

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Bilbo was over 100 years old in the story and I think they've made an excellent casting choice. Even if it does mean I'll have to wait another year for Season 3 of Sherlock.

      Delete
    2. the first choice for the role was James McAvoy, I'd kinda loved to have seen him in the role, although I have nothing against Freeman. I will watch the film anyway only for Thranduil, Galadriel and Bard the Bowman :)

      Delete
  13. I don't usually comment on Fashion (what do I know!) but Claire Dane's dress was so atrocious I was getting a headache from it! I feel a bit mean because I didn't know she was pregnant (the baby papa remark makes more sense now), but from the front the dress was almost passable - it was from the back I went WTF!!! I don't know any pregnant woman who shows from the back so the dress was definitely a huge mistake!
Whew! Thanks for giving me space to rant. :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm glad I haven't seen the back of the dress :) But she's always been a bad dresser, unlike her husband Hugh Dancy who always looks dashing.

      Delete
  14. Lol; mermaids are in this year! I'll forgive Glenn Close though; she really is a fuddy duddy dresser, and that's fine with me cuz so am I :)

Can I have that poster of Hugh Jackman to put above my bed?

    3. :) I wonder if she felt comfortable in it, I'd worry that my boobs would jump out of it :)
I like Morena with the long hair.

      Delete
    4. She always looks good no matter how she has her hair. So unfair.

She has probably used an entire roll of two-sided tape to make sure the dress stays on and in place. That's what I'd do ;)

    5. there's some kind of body glue which ladies use to stick such deep cleavages, Lyndy, I've even seen a young man at my plastic surgeon, who used that glue to stick his overly big ears to his head :( The doctor and I couldn't believe it when he told us he's been doing it every day for years.

      Delete
    6. Ha! The things I learn!
I kinda feel sorry for the guy who felt that self-conscious about his ears. He probably couldn't afford the surgery. :(

      Delete
    7. doctor and me got shocked when he told us that at first he used industrial glue for sticking metal :( She performed a surgery on him later on and gave him nice ears. But his original pair was really ginormous. Surgeries are expensive, I saved money for three years for my last surgery :(

My favorite is Morena Baccarin. I agree with everything else you said except for two things...I really disliked Julianne Hough's dress which makes me sad because I like Hough a lot!! I also don't think that Claire Dane's dress is all that bad. Then again...canary yellow is my favorite color :P :P
