EWAN MCGREGOR'S "THE IMPOSSIBLE" TRAILER! MILA KUNIS, JAMES FRANCO, LIAM NEESON IN "THIRD PERSON"! NEW FILM ON "PONTIUS PILATE"! KAT DENNINGS RETURNS TO "THOR:DARK WORLD"

Big casting update for the new romantic drama THIRD PERSON which will be directed by Oscar winner Paul Haggis (CRASH) who also wrote the story: as "Variety" reports Mila Kunis, James Franco and Casey Affleck have joined Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde in the film which follows the inter-connected stories of three couples all living in different cities, Rome, Paris, and New York. Each couple and city represent different phases of a relationship, with Rome representing the beginning, Paris the middle, and New York the end. Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde will portray the Paris couple, a pair of writers, while Mila Kunis and James Franco will play the troubled New York couple. Casey Affleck will play a part of the new couple who take a road trip through Italy.
HOLLY WOOD SPY HEAD LINES
Beside the story on Noah in sf epic with Russell Crowe, it seems we shall get another Biblical story on the big screen: according to "Deadline", Warner Bros. will put a
new spin on PONTIUS PILATE. Produced by BREAKING BAD producer, the story of the film follows the entire life of Lucius Pontius Pilate, the son of a Roman knight and a cunning warrior in his own right. He is assigned to become the prefect of Judea, where his arrogance clouds his judgment and causes the public to despise him. This leads to his decision on the fate of Jesus Christ, a man claiming to be the King of the Jews. Good news for all of you who liked last year's hit on the Norse god is that sequel THOR: DARK WORLD will have gorgeous Kat Dennings again in the role of crazy Darcy Lewis. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are leading the cast again.

THE IMPOSSIBLE TRAILER
Last year, I showed you a Spanish trailer for deeply touching movie THE IMPOSSIBLE with Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts in the lead roles, but now you can check out the English one. They play a family caught in
the tsunami that hit Thailand seven years ago: Maria, Henry and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities, a terrifying roar rises up from the centre of the earth. As Maria freezes in fear, a huge wall of black water races across the hotel grounds toward her.
Henry grabs the two youngest boys, but it’s too late: the wave smashes into him with incredible force and dislodges his grip. Maria is pushed
underwater, where she is crushed and battered by debris to the brink of death. She finally surfaces in a raging black sea, which has completely submerged her three-story hotel and the surrounding landscape. Maria gasps for breath while she tries to understand what has just happened,
convinced that her family has been obliterated in the blink of an eye. But then, her eldest son, surfaces a few meters ahead in the wild flood. Face-to-face with something unexpected and incomprehensible, she must fight against all odds for her child’s survival. And her own.

  1. Wow, those are some great special effects in The Impossible. So hard to imagine what it must have been like to see that wall of water crashing down.

  2. Oh my gosh, Dezz, the trailer for The Impossible was so moving. It's left me on the verge of tears over here. Heartbreaking what all those people went through.

Third Person sounds like a good film. I can't believe how many movies Wilde and Kunis have been cast in lately - good for them =)

I'll be interested to see how they do PONTIUS PILATE...see how the story of him unfolds.

    6. That opening scene was so much like what I saw in the news when it happened, it was chilling. Can you imagine having lived through something like that.

    7. it's horrible, especially when you remember the stories of the people who survived. I remember the story of a man whom the wave throw right onto a palm three from which he watched his wife being smashed by the wave and taken to death. And he was helpless to do anything. Imagine parents with kids there, or all those people who lost homes there, people who are otherwise poor as well and had only that modest roof above their heads.

    8. Just gut wrenching, watching it through the mom's eyes! It didn't even have to be in English for me to understand her pain and torment....ugh!

  3. I will say that:
IMPOSSIBLE must be a good movie, but I don't like the trailer!
Like always with the trailers, I see too much of the story!
(perhaps, the story is different, but I would like to have more suspense, more interrogations..)

(... hey Dezmond: I've post some pics of my next LoTR vignette: Tom Bombadil!
... and I've made an error : Tom it's not a character of The Hoobit, I was thinking at Beorn!)

    1. hope your country wasn't devastated by the tsunami, Novia. But if I remember correctly your country is often under the threat of natural disasters :(

  9. I'm definitely going to see the Ewan McGregor movie. I love everything that he is in (big surprise, I know). It definitely looks like a new "spin" on a disaster flick. I realize that it's based on the devastating tsunami that rocked the Indian Ocean almost a decade ago, and therein may lie the reason why I'll probably enjoy it more than say, another Hollywood movie featuring yet another disaster. It's kind of like a "reinvention" of that kind of show, making it more galvanizing and real by pulling from modern headlines.

    1. I'd rather call it a deep drama, not a disaster movie.
It's a Spanish production, not a Hollywood one, which will probably give it more depth and quality.

  10. I don't even know where to begin. Everything sounds good today..and like I said up there/\/\/\, The Impossible DID make me cry...and as it turns out I was JUST thinking about how I forgot how much I adore Ewan McGregor, so, yay!!

    Seriously...everything sounds good today!

  11. An interesting cast of people for the Impossible movie. But it's a tad too depressing for my tastes.

  12. The Impossible does look really good and it's based on a true story as well. The terror those people must have felt when that happened. I still remember those images of that impossible wave coming in, the sight of trees, cars, buses and people swirling through what used to be a city. Such devastation, but also such courage.

Pilate could be really good. He was quite the interesting fellow who found himself in an impossible situation.

    1. I wonder how much have they recovered after that. We've seen the quick recovery of Japanese people after that tsunami and nuclear disaster of theirs two years ago, but this was in a very poor country.

I've always thought about Pontius that way too, darling. It's an impossible situation when you have to deal with religious fanatics or deeply religious people.

  13. Wow, I remember the Spanish trailer for The Impossible and in the first few seconds I had to see this movie, even if it meant reading subtitles. I really cannot wait to see this in the theater. I love Ewan, he is simply amazing to watch. Always playing such diverse roles.

I'm glad they are doing this Pontius Pilate project. Always wondered if he was really the arrogant bad guy or just more likely caught up in circumstance. Great stuff as always, my friend. :)

...and about Mila Kunis! I was cleaning with Forgetting Sara Marshall on in the background yesterday. It totally reminded me that Ms. Kunis is sexy as hell! I love her too. :) :)
