Daniel Henney, Johnny Knoxville, Jaimie Alexander... the film follows Sheriff Owens, a man who has resigned himself to a life of fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy, the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the hemisphere is hurtling toward the border at 200 mph in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a fierce army of gang members. He is headed, it turns out, straight for Summerton Junction, where the whole of U.S. law enforcement will have their last opportunity to make a stand and intercept him before he slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved,
and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for the face off.
LAST STAND CAST TIDBITS
After finishing his governator business, Arnold is coming back to work with a whole slate of projects including THE EXPENDABLES sequel this year. Rodrigo Santoro, whom you're currently watching in WHAT TO EXPECT WHILE YOU'RE EXPECTING, is ready to take the role of Persian emperor Xerxes again in 300: BATTLE OF ARTEMISIA, to be shot this year in Serbia. Jaimie Alexander will repeat her role of Sif in THOR 2 next year. Super charming Zach Gilford will star in THE MOB DOCTOR show this Fall on TV.
SINBAD FULL TRAILER
Some time ago HOLLYWOOD SPY has presented you with first pictures from new adventure show SINBAD which will hit small screens this July at Sky One in UK and here's the whole trailer for the programme. Starring newcomer Elliot Knight in the title role, alongside Naveen Andrews ("Lost"), Orla Brady ("Fringe"), Sophie Okonedo ("Hotel Rwanda") and Timothy Spall ("Harry Potter"), the new show, packed with fantasy, adventure and action, will follow the legendary sailor Sinbad who, banished from his homeland of Basra and cast out to sea on the ship called "The Providence" following the death of his much-loved brother, embarks on an epic quest to rid himself of the curse placed on him by his own
grandmother and embrace his destiny. On board "The
Providence", an intriguing band of travellers are thrown together,
including taciturn Norwegian sailor Gunnar (Elliot Cowan), lithe jewel-thief Rina
(Marama Corlett), and haughty Nala (Estella Daniels). Completing the ship's complement are the eccentric Cook (Junix Inocian), and the ship's cerebral doctor Anwar (Dimitri Leonidas).
We'll give Sinbad a go but I don't have high expectations.
ReplyDeletemy thought exactly, Lurk
DeleteI remember reading the stories as a kid and it always seems like the films are destined to fail...but here's hoping they make it awesome
ReplyDeletestories about Sinbad?
DeleteSinbad looks a bit more meh now that I've seen the trailer, who knows though could be good.
ReplyDeleteShould be good to see Arnold back on screen too, then again with a lot of his more recent crap before he went into politics, maybe not.
Maybe he'll make a political action movie... one with a lot of depth. Speaking of depth, let's sink that meh Sinbad. Oh wait, he might do it himself hahaha.
Deleteyes, I'm not overly happy with the trailer either!
DeletePat said it perfectly. Trailer looked a little meh... Let's keep hope though!
ReplyDeletewe shall keep our fingers crossed!
DeleteRodrigo Santoro was just wonderful to look at in What to Expect =)))) and he was a great actor too LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't recall hearing anything about Mob Doctor, I'll have to look that one up.
Good for Arnold getting back out there - I guess...he was never that great of an actor in my opinion.
Hope you're resting Dezzy!
I mentioned MOB DOCTOR earlier this spring when I wrote some news on Zach Gilford.
DeleteI will be resting next few days, but I've sent you an email with details :)
Makes sense...takes a break from politics and goes back to making movies. I mean, it's just practical! lol
ReplyDeleteI'm only not sure who wants to watch him?
DeleteThe Sinbad project could be fun. I used to watch those old Sinbad movies on TV when I was a kid. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're recovering and taking it easy!
I liked SINBAD adventure show from the early 2000's.
DeleteIt was a very difficult surgery, five and a half hours, but SuperDezzy has survived... at least me hopes so :)
I'm not sure about Sinbad. I want to like it, but it reminds me a little of Merlin (and you know my thoughts on THAT show hehehe)
ReplyDeleteI believe SINBAD will be way bellow MERLIN judging from the trailer.
DeleteI'm not sure about Sinbad. I don't really know the cast so I'm not gunning for it. We'll see though how it goes.
ReplyDeletewe'll give it a try
DeleteI forgot Arnold Schwarzenegger was still doing movies.
ReplyDeleteWho's Arnold?
DeleteI forgot it as well :)
DeleteI don't watch too many action-adventure shows, so I'm not sure about Sinbad.
ReplyDeleteArnold's back in movies? It's been awhile. I used to love his films.
hope Sinbad won't be all that bad
DeleteI am pretty sure Jaime Alexander wants me!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMerry Wednesday Dezzy!! x
I'm pretty sure too, Scottie, and you again missed the news on my surgery :)
DeleteSinbad looks pretty badass.
ReplyDeleteglad you like it!

Deleteohhh I'm a really big AHNOLD fan so I'm going to watch The Last Stand just for him if nothing else. Sinbad looks really good too, great costumes.
ReplyDeleteSo was I, Matt... until he decided to mock his own movies and call it comedy.
Deleteglad you're excited, Matt!
DeleteThe Sindbad trailer didn't bowl me over, but I'll give it a try. Fingers crossed! :)
ReplyDeletefingers crossed, Samwise!
DeleteDezz, don't make me eat your shorts again. for hoping Sinbad'll make his own ship sink! ;)
ReplyDeletehe probably will, but you can still eat my shorts :)
DeleteSINBAD looks like the kind of thing Ron Perlman should be in. To be fair, I think Ron Perlman should be in everything.
ReplyDeleteoh, Ron Perlman... don't really like him too much.
DeleteSinbad? Cool I'll haveto check that one out! I use to watch the 90's tv show Sinbad, though this seems different, the general ideas the same and quite interesting!!
ReplyDeleteyep, I also liked Sinbad show with Zen Gesner!
DeleteNot too sure about Sinbad. It seems okay, but I will wait and see. Not interested in the governator's new projects too much, either. It seems he's done that sheriff/retired special ops/soldier/cop things in oh I don't know, a hundred other movies? Ah well, that Daniel Henney sure is a hottie, though.
ReplyDeleteRodrigo and battle is where it's at for me. ;)
Daniel does have the most lickworthy nipples and abs :)
Deletewhen it said 'legendary character' i was hoping Michael Starke was going to be reprising his iconic role.
