SAOIRSE RONAN IN "THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN"! DYNAMIC MINDBLOWING TRAILER FOR "ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE HUNTER"! EMMA THOMPSON & VIOLA DAVIS JOIN "BEAUTIFUL CREATURES"! GRAMMY 2012 FASHION REPORT

You probably remember how I've told you a couple of times that there will be three not two Snow White projects in Hollywood: beside Tarsem's MIRROR MIRROR and Charlize Theron's SNOW WHITE
AND THE HUNTSMAN there is also SNOW AND THE SEVEN, which has just changed its name into THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN in an effort to erase all similarities with the famous fairy tale. According to "Variety" the film has also signed in Saoirse Ronan for the lead role in the film which was supposed to be a Snow White story set in China with samurais instead of dwarves, but will now be a story about Olivia Spencer, a British expatriate in Hong Kong, who finds protection with a group of outlaw warriors. When an evil empress comes into power, Olivia helps the warriors reclaim their royal ties to the kingdom. Disney has changed the story to avoid parallels with the other two upcoming blockbusters and they are also trying to get some of the big stars from China, Russia and Japan for the roles of the warriors in order to increase the international appeal of the film.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
Beside THE HUNGER GAMES, ENDER'S GAME and THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, one of the new YA saga's to hit movie adaptation is BEAUTIFUL CREATURES by Margaret Stohl-Kami Garcia. Beside youngsters Jack O'Connell and Alice Englert, the cast has recently added two critically acclaimed ladies Emma Thompson and Viola Davis.
The story follows two teens who must confront a curse that has haunted the girl's family for generations. As "Deadline" reports, Emma Thompson will have quite an interesting dual role of Mrs. Lincoln, a small town religious zealot, and Sarafine, who is the dark witch who possesses her. The film is being directed by Richard LaGravanese, who wrote screenplays for THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA THE VOYAGE OF DAWN TREADER, PS I LOVE YOU (which he also directed) and for WATER FOR ELEPHANTS. He is currently also writing the script for UNBROKEN, Universal's WW2 drama about Louis Zamperini, a US athlete who not only competed in infamous Olympic games held in 1936. in Berlin in front of Hitler, but who also got captured by the Japanese who held him as POW in one of their war camps.

It doesn't often happen that a studio reveals a new trailer on Monday, but that's what has happened today: 20th Century Fox has released the first mind blowing trailer for ABRAHAM LINCOLN VAMPIRE
HUNTER
which premiers in cinemas in June. Starring Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell and Dominic Cooper, this strange epic horror follows the infamous American President Lincoln whose mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers. Gifted with his legendary height, strength, and skill with an axe, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House. This $70 million movie, produced by Tim Burton, is directed by Russian director Timur Bekmambetov.

GRAMMY 2012 FASHION REPORT
Have you watched Sunday night's GRAMMY 2012 AWARDS? For us outside of USA it's a show filled with musicians we've never heard off :) Who was best dressed for you at the red carpet? We know that, unlike actors, singers usually have no taste in fashion, but some of them looked nice, like that lady, whom I've no idea who she is, Carrie Underwood,
who looked profound in her ice white glittering gown, or Katy Perry who is generally the trashiest creature ever to appear in the music world, but she looked lovely this time in her dazzling blue gown which even matched the dead Smurf on her head (and by Smurf I mean that unnatural hair colour of hers). Adele, the star of the evening, opted for
refined black and I deeply respect and love her decision to be a vocal star not a visual one and thus opting to always stay elegant and simple. Taylor Swift, whose songs we've never heard outside USA, looked interesting in her princess Irulan from Dune dress, and so did Kelly Rowland who is more popular in Europe then in USA.

  1. Your rundown on Grammy fashion cracked me up. :-) I liked Katy Perry's look - her dress was perfect for her.

And ZOMG all the movies! The Order of the Seven looks like it will put a much needed twist on Snow White, and Beautiful Creatures!?! YESSS!

Thanks, as always, for your fab roundup.

THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN should be a nice one if done right!

  2. Oh, wow, another movie trailer full of the crazy. It's a Hollywood epidemic.

I wondered how you would do a fashion wrap-up of the Grammys. Usually it's an I-can-out-do-you-on-weird competition. But Adele was so beautiful. So happy for her wins. Someone who really deserved it.

    1. Yep, I had a fight recently with some shallow woman who said Adele dresses boring and should work on her moves and outfits. I was scandalized by her opinion and had to explain some things to her. I hate it when shallow people don't get it that Adele should be applauded for not accepting what showbiz expects from her and for doing her job - and that's singing and not looking like some freak from Mars.

  3. The trailer doesn't look too bad, but still vampires, pffft. I wish I had the money they spent on one of those dresses. I'd be set for the next ten years easily..haha

  4. I don't see a need for yet another Snow White. And i actually remember Jack from Skins...his character was kind of a douche tho.

And while Beautiful Creatures sounds interesting, i am getting annoyed that the one YA movie adaption i really want to see is taking so long. There hasn't been any news on it since the interview with the producer :(

  7. carrie underwood is just amazing, simply amazing. she just seems like such a classy chick. but she's a country music singer (like the always cute and formidable taylor swift) so that's probably why you aren't familiar with her. i believe she is the most successful singer to come off american idol aside from kelly clarkson.

and DUDE! i had no idea that kid from skins was going to be in beautiful creatures. maybe i'll have to read the book now. skins really aced casting...

    and hooray for adele!

    1. yep, I know she's a country singer :) Country is the only genre not popular outside USA, the only country singers to have success in Europe too were Shania Twain and LeAnn Rimmes, but both were more pop than country. Taylor never had a hit here, nor even a memorable song, although I do remember her video in which she goes to prom.
When it comes to Idol, my fave was Jordin Sparks, love her songs, BATTLEFIELD is one of my top ten all time faves :)

  8. Hi Dezzy! Happy Valentine's Day, friend! Hope it's amazing and full of happiness and love for you.

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES just got interesting with Emma T. I really like her. Still haven't read the books, but want to.

On the dresses, they all look so elegant. I love Katy Perry's dress - the color, the style. The dress.

As for Adele, her voice is gorgeous! I'd never seen a picture of her until the Grammy's and it's really driving me crazy. She's this beautiful woman, but all this time I've been picturing a girl with dark hair and soulful eyes. It's just weird. I'll get over it though.

    1. Katy really had a lovely dress for once in her life. The colour was amazing.
Adele looks different now since she's lost at least 30 pounds if not more and has become a blond. She's pretty. Wish she would make a video for SET FIRE TO THE RAIN :)

  13. Carrie Underwood looks divine in her dress!!! I love its sparkles and simplicity. If I were a celeb, I'd wear something like that (also if I were talk and slender and young HAHAHA)

    1. I loved that one too, I love glittery things and angelic and elven ones :) I'd only kick the ass :) of the stylist who told her it would be clever to use a black purse with the white gown.... not creative at all, just plain weird. Silver or white should've been her bag.
