PICS FROM THE PREMIERE OF "IMMORTALS"! EDDIE MURPHY DITCHES OSCARS! "ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS" FILM! ELISABETH MOSS IN "TOP OF THE LAKE"! STELLAR CAST IN "SECOND OF PLEASURE"

I myself find her films terribly bland, frigid and visionless, but Jane Campion is directing 6 episodes of BBC's new mini series
TOP OF THE LAKE.To be set in the wonderful landscapes of New Zealand the story will center around a detective who tries to solve the disappearance of a 12-year-old pregnant daughter of a local drug lord. The lead role will be taken by MAD MEN's brilliant Elisabeth Moss, with Peter Mullan playing the drug lord, and Holly Hunter and David Wenham also in the cast. MovieWeb reported today about an interesting film called DREAMT, set in modern day, where two people have a supernatural connection and therefore are actually dreaming in each other's lives. Conflict ensues after the men discover each other's existence, leading one man to try to take over the other's life and stopping at nothing to get it.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
I don't know about you but I've always loved films with interconnected stories, and a new one will come from Neil LaBute who will adapt his book of short stories into SECOND OF PLEASURE film
weaving together several separate but intertwined stories about 6 different couples. The cast so far is interesting: Brendan Fraser, Christina Hendricks, Matt Dilon, Julia Stiles, Kristin Scott Thomas. One of the coolest British sitcoms ever, legendary ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS with the utterly crazy duo of two hilarious snobs played by Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, is heading to the big screen according to "Deadline"  and it will begin with Edina and Patsy waking up, hung over as usually, on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, with no cell phone signal to call for help. Fabulous, absolutely fabulous :) Good news: both Brett Ratner and Eddie Murphy have resigned from directing and hosting next year OSCARS :) This is apparently due to Brett making a scandalous and idiotic remark this weekend saying "rehearsal is for fags".

And check out the pictures from the gala premiere of this year's biggest epic IMMORTALS which hits cinemas this weekend. As you know, Tarsem's movie follows the battle between Theseus, Gods and evil king Hyperion. The stars of the premiere were off
course Henry Cavill who plays Theseus and Luke Evans who plays Zeus. Two of them were looking super dashing, but no surprise there since they are two of the most handsome young stars in Hollywood. Freida Pinto, who plays a visionary priestess, looked absolutely stunning in her exotic ivory gown,  while young Isabel Lucas, who plays Athena, chose a rather disappointing
dress which didn't show off her beauty. Kellan Lutz who plays Poseidon also looked positively gorgeous in a black suit. To read more about the movie of the year, check out our exclusive spotlight on IMMORTALS.

  2. I noticed that most people agree with us on her :) THE PIANO, BRIGHT STAR, THE PORTRAIT OF A LADY, HOLY SMOKE, IN THE CUT... all dreadfully empty and monotonous with no emotion nor passion and plus she has a thing for expressionless actresses.

  3. Henry Cavill? *swoon*

  4. So tell us how you REALLY feel about Campion. :) Have to agree, The Piano was a terrible movie.

    But what a handsome trio: Evans, Cavill, and Lutz. Very dashing, indeed. I think I'm going to go see Immortals on Saturday. Must see that one on the big screen I think.

  6. Good news huh? What you don't like the guy that made X-men (one of the biggest peices of superhero trash ever, next to blade 3 and the hulk.) and the guy who brought your Daddy Day Care?..hahaha...Billy Crystal should do it, he's always been the best.

  8. I will never forgive Ratner for X-Men 3. I loved the first 2 movies, but he nearly ruined X-men until First Class came along. Although i can't say i hate Murphy.

    Dreamt seems like it could be good

  15. Wasn't Holly Hunter in one of Jane Campion's previous films--The Piano? I'm hoping that they don't pick a loser to host the Oscars.

    I was worried about Eddie when I saw him on Jimmy Fallon the other night! His every other word would of been bleeped out~ Wonder who will now host?!

    @Clarissa
    she was, I think they love working together, which is natural given that both of them are rather bland.

    @Ella
    yep, I like Eddie, but I was afraid he would make Oscars too rude and offensive with lots of jokes on body sounds and similar. Hope they will find someone more refined.

    I'm afraid Eddie in the combination with Ratner would've been just too much even for poor little me :) Imagine if they hired a rhyming host? :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. hahaha a rhyming host would be rather fun of course those glamor types might get confused a ton. They may look bright, in good light..haha.....yeah that's why I'm sort of glad Beverly Hills Cop 4 never got made, Ratner would just ruin it.
