ANNE HATHAWAY TO JOIN HUGH JACKMAN IN "LES MISERABLES"? 1ST PICS FROM JUDI DENCH'S "THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL"! DOMINIC COOPER IS MR.DARCY IN "PRIDE & PREJUDICE & ZOMBIES"!

 If we can believe the new buzz from Hollywood, Anne Hathaway could join the new movie (and musical) adaptation of
famous LES MISERABLES by Victor Hugo. As you remember Hugh Jackman has signed on to play a prisoner named Jean Valjean, who is on the run from a policeman named Javert during the French Revolution. There were rumors before that Paul Bettany or Russell Crowe could take the role of Javert, while Anne Hathaway could be the female lead Fantine. As HOLLYWOOD SPY has informed you before, the director of the film will be Tom Hooper, whom we loved as the director of THE KING'S SPEECH and the famous ELIZABETH 1 mini series with Helen Mirren.
SHORT HOLLYWOOD HEADLINES
According to latest gossips the main villain in CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 could be MODOK, a man whose head grew so large for his body that he can only get around in an exoskeleton and armed hoverchair.
The interesting thing is that the screenwriters would like to see Peter Dinklage (who wasn't very convincing in GAME OF THRONES) to take the role. The producers currently don't like the idea. According to "ScreenRant" PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES has signed on it's Mr. Darcy, and it will be young Dominic Cooper.  The film in which Elizabeth Bennet has to fight against zombies beside fighting with pride and prejudices, will be directed by Craig Gillespie (FRIGHT NIGHT) but it still doesn't have the lead actress since Emma Stone, Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson have all refused the role.

First pics from one of my most anticipated upcoming films THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL have appeared around the net today. With an incredible cast including living legends Judi
Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson and Tom Nighy, and young Dev Patel, this wonderfully charming film will follow a group of older people who are tricked into becoming members of
an exotic and luxurious retirement home in India, but when they come there the place seems to be something totally else. The film is directed by brilliant John Madden and should hit cinemas next Spring.

  1. Oh I love the cast in Hotel. I'd see it just to see them.
    Is there something wrong with Cooper's picture? He looks plastic, like a carnival doll. A little creepy.

  2. take a better look, Mary, he has water dripping over his face :)
    The cast in Marigold hotel is so good that I want to check myself in that place myself :)

  4. if I remember correctly, although I'm not sure, it is based on a book, so you might wanna read that one too :)

  5. I'm unfamiliar with Les Miserables--my literary radar missed it--so I'm interested in this adaptation.

    I'm not a fan of those mishmashes with Austen's novels and zombies. I tried reading one. Maybe it'll be more entertaining on screen.

  6. You must read all novels from Hugo, Balzac, Flauber ... and also from all Russian writers from the period of Realism ... those are usually the best novels ever written.

  7. Ow...why Hugh Jackman not Paul Bettany? :(

    Wow...P&P & zombie is turned into a movie? are they serious? even the book itself is a joke. No wonder those ladies turned down the offer.

  8. That last movie has some really good names.

    As to Les Mis, it's my favorite musical so I'm only going to see it if it's really done well. I don't want to ruin it.

  9. Does Anne Hathaway sing or would they have to dub her voice? I wonder.

  11. Cooper will make a great Mr. Darcy...not sure about Anne in the role. I can't see her with Hugh Jackman?!

  12. Dinklage was one of my favourites from Game of Thrones, but having him as the villain in the new Cap would inadvertently give it too much of a comical spin. I'd rather they didn't :P
    Cooper as Mr. Darcy could go either way. He doesn't necessarily look the part, but what I've seen him in so far seems like he's up to the task.

  13. I've never actually watched Les Miserables, was it any good?

  17. Anne Hathaway is almost in everything, I hope she can share the opportunities to other young actresses.

  18. @Novia
    no, you didn't get it right, the film could have both Hugh AND Paul in opposing roles :)

    @Clarissa
    it is a brilliant cast in MARIGOLD HOTEL, isn't it? :)

    @Debra
    I'm not sure, but I remember correctly she did sing at the Oscars last year :)

  19. @Vics
    Neil Patrick Harris and PAul Bettany together? Now that would be a heartattackworthy blond combination :)

    @Ella
    yep, Anne and Hugh would be an unusual combination, but she generally has strange chemistry with most actors since we see her as a goofy next door girl not as a love object

    @Jamie
    according to rumors, the producers agree with you, it's the screenwriter's idea to put Dinklage in the cast, but producers don't like it

  20. @DWei
    it's rather long, boring and monotonous :)

    @Scott
    it's my type of a heartwarming uplifting movie as well

    @Edmund
    she was bad in ONE DAY?I want to see that film since I love romantic dramas of that type

    @Jaccsy
    yep, these days, it seems Hollywood has only Hathaway, Mila Kunis and Olivia Wilde :(

  21. Seriously? MODOK? Poor choice in my opinion.

  22. The new Les Miserables should be good... but that has some really high bars to match. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... Good Lord, that's sacrilege!! I'm getting my posters ready to protest! Okay, I can't go any farther. I need to recover from that travesty.

  23. he he :) gather the villagers with rakes, stakes and torches and lets burn Hollywood :)

  24. I don't mind pics of Anne Hathaway, but I'm disliking this Les Mis more and more. Dominic Cooper as Mr. Darcy? Sure. I don't see Mila Kunis, Emma Stone, or ScarJo as Elizabeth Bennett though.

  25. you don't like Hugh Jackman?
    Not sure who will get the female role in PRIDE AND ZOMBIES, but it seems the project is rather problematic

    ReplyDelete
  26. No, no, I like Hugh Jackman. I'm just worried that his Valjean will be too much like his Leopold.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Aaa I see... I misunderstood the words. I hope he gets the part not Russel crowe

  28. THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL seems like a film for the old folk.

    LES MISERABLES seems like one of those films that will get lots of awards love but then everyone will ask themselves was it really that good? Kinda like THE KING'S SPEECH.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Josh
    he he I didn't have problem with his Leopold :) but I did have a problem with Meg Ryan :)

    @Novia
    I hope so too!

    @Movies
    Guess I'm an old folk then :)) And I kinda liked THE KING'S SPEECH and was happy it took awards instead of most of the crappy flicks last year.

  30. Hearing all the news about Le Miserables makes me want to see the play so bad. It's playing now in my neck of the woods until December, I should get my hubby to finally go see it.

    Oooh, THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL sounds great. Love dame Judi and Tom Wilkinson. Thanks for letting me know about it, Dezzy!

  31. I didn't mind his Leopold at all. Only mean that his Valjean better be different. I think this whole thing is my reaction to Anne Hathaway as Fantine. Though I can't recall news on the grown up Cosette, anyone is better than Claire Danes.

  32. I'll watch any movie with Hugh Jackman. Or as I like the call him, the Huge Ackman.

  33. I thought Peter Dinklage was pretty great in Game of Thrones :(

  34. @Flixy
    grab the opportunity while it's still there, Flixy :)
    I've been following and mentioning THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL for more than a year now, and I'm really excited to see the first trailer when it comes out!

    @Josh
    yep, I get what you mean, Josh!
    Did you know that I share my birthday with Claire Danes? :))

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Diane
    he he I know that most ladies have a special nickname for Hugh :) And he really is Huge and a true Jackman :)

    @Chesire
    yep, I know that some people liked him, but I thought that he was basically playing himself. He always does that in most of his roles. And I thought he was a bit too modern in mimics and expressions having in mind the genre of the show.

  36. I didn't but happy belated birthday (or early for next April). I share min w/ Keanu Reeves and Salma Hayek, as well as Liliuokalani, (former Queen of Hawaii), English Poet William Somerville, and Marie Josephine Louise of Savoy, wife of King Louis XVIII of France.

  37. see, I knew you had some connection with royalty :PP And I share my zodiac sign with Hitler :P

  38. Anne Hathaway is doing really well. I'm very pleased for her - a top actress.

  39. I guess they're not singing in the movie? The broadway version was incredible.

    I love P&P, but I can't stand zombies. Why'd they do that to Jane Austen? I'm still shaking my head. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Dan
    she is a nice actress, I'm just afraid she might star popping out of our fridges too one of these days :)

    @Mary
    I'm not sure, but I think they said it WILL be a musical film. Jane deserves all the zombie attacks :) for torturing so many generations who had to read her novels in school even though her books could hardly be called literature :))

  41. I think Anne Hathaway is a wonderful actress. She always seems to have personal style.
