ALICE EVE & DIANE KRUGER TO PLAY LANA LANG IN "SUPERMAN"? JAKE GYLLENHAAL IN STEPHEN KING'S "THE STAND"? RALPH FIENNES AS VILLAIN IN "JAMES BOND"? JESSE MCCARTNEY JOINS "LOCKE & KEY"

Ah, each new day brings us new updates on SUPERMAN casting. According to "Variety" the list of candidates, which will take female lead beside Henry Cavill who is playing SUPERMAN, is now down to only three names: gorgeous Alice Eve
(just finished shooting RAVEN with John Cusack in Serbia), Diane Kruger (TROY) and Rosamunde Pike (the worst possible choice if you ask me). But here's the biggest surprise - it seems that Lois Lane won't appear in the movie at all, but some other female character, possibly Lana Lang. The studio is also searching for a villain too.
FRESH UPDATE 8PM - it seems there will be Lois in the film, and that one of the girls above could actually play a side-kick to the main villain in the film.

According to the producers, the second season of THE WALKING DEAD, one of them most successful shows from last year, will become a more ensemble based show with episodes focusing on each individual character. They are looking to describe the main heroes of the show in more detail, after the plot was set in the first season.

Warner Bros. is planning a new film adaptation of Stephen King's famous sf novel THE STAND which is centered on the survivors of a man-made plague that has wiped out most of mankind. Stephen King wants Jake Gyllenhaal in the leading role. As you know, another of King's famous sagas THE DARK TOWER is also in preproduction.

It seems that JAMES BOND 23 could have three villains: beside Rachel Weisz and Javier Bardem who were rumored to have been offered villainous roles, the new gossip says that Ralph Fiennes has been offered a role of a very dark and complex character which will oppose Daniel Craig in Sam Mendes directed film.

According to "Deadline" one of the most interesting shows coming out this year, LOCKE & KEY has just added pop star Jesse McCartney (currently promoting his hit single SHAKE) into its cast. He will play the male lead in the story of Nina Locke (Miranda Otto) and her three children, Tyler (Jesse McCartney), Kinsey (Sarah Bolger from THE TUDORS), and Bode (Skylar Gaertner) who, after the brutal murder of Nina's husband, return to Keyhouse, his old family home in Massachusetts. There, they are pestered by an evil entity that's determined to hold the family hostage one way or another until it gets what it wants.

  1. If you ask me, I'll definitely choose Alice Eve for the role, two other are just too old. :)

  2. I'm also voting for Alice Eve, dear Jaccsy, especially since she would look great as a brunette too with those eyes :)

  3. Sounds like it may be Stephen King's year at the movies.

  4. If the make a theatrical version of The Stand, it'll be really long. The TV miniseries boiled down to at least four and a half hours.

  5. Alice Eve, she looks more the part. Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike I just can't see.

    I can't wait for more of The Walking Dead. It's a very well-written, well-acted show. Plus it's all about zombies. ;)

  6. Sounds like they're assembing a formidable trio of actors to play Bond villains--or are they trying to recruit an army of baddies?

  7. What is the obsession with Jake G? I can't stand him--not his acting, not his face, nothing. Ugh, ugh.

  8. Why would they remake the stand? It's awesome enough already.

  9. Stand would be a long one or will they mess it up the way they did early King movies? Superman and Bond are due to retire. Probably no Lois Lane cuz she's in a nursing home. :0)

  10. Alice Eve is so damn pretty :3

  11. I love James Bond with lots of bad guys. Sometimes the bad guys turn good and that adds a twist. As for superman, I hope they find good cast because that can make or break a film.

    And yes, how did you know my blogfest was forensic!? We get to autopsy our own characters! ;) Just joking. Nah, it wont be that fun, what I have in mind is super boring.

  12. @Masy
    it will be, since LOCKE AND KEY is also his :)

    @ALex
    it could be a trilogy, although I'm not sure we need it with THE DARK TOWER already moving ahead.

    @Melissa
    I also vote for Alice from that (poor) choice. THE WALKING DEAD really were amazing, it's probably the most anticipated second season of the year :)

  13. @Arlee
    well, they did say they are planning something special for Bond in this sequel.

    @Summer
    I've noticed that most people can't stand him. I can't say I love him, but I'm pretty much impartial towards him. He was good in some roles and has certain relaxed charm in him.

    that question, my friend, is older that the universe :)

    she is :)

    @Clarissa
    yes, the definitely need a great villain and great female star in SUPERMAN to go with the amazing Henry Cavill.

  15. Whoa, Alice Eve! I am not too familiar with her work, although, I do recognize her from "She's Out of My League." That picture tells me I should get more familiar. Everyday, these Superman updates are getting better and better.

  16. I like Alice Eve, yet shouldn't Lois Lane be a brunette? Then again, they can always dye it!

    Looks like it's going to be a great year for Stephen King too.

    Oh, and like Jake Gyllenhaal. A lot :)

    he he ... yes, Alice has been seducing the film viewers in last few years :) I was voting for her to get the role of Peggy Carter in CAPTAIN AMERICA last year, but it went to that bleak and weak Hayley Atwell, and she was also supposed to be White Queen in XMEN but the role went to January Jones.

    @Wendy
    she won't play Lois Lane if she gets the role, although according to last rumors there will be Lois in the film. Alice could play the sidekick to the main villain.

  18. More Stephen King films. Yay.

    I've watched all the Daniel Craig Bond films and eagerly await the next installment.

  19. That's gonna be interesting. I think Alice Eve could do a good job, her looks fit the role.

    Jesse McCartney is still acting., and the series is gonna be based on Stephen King's?

    Great blog by the way.

    it seems this could be Daniel's last one, since the producers want to cast Clive Owen in the role.

    @Nahno
    yep, Jesse is still singing and acting and looking gorgeous as always :)

  26. I have to admit, I like the direction Superman director/producers are going with this, Lana Lang is an important character being Clarks first love, and the idea that they might build up to Lois Lane seems better, ala Gwen Stacey/Spiderman.
    Diane Kruger being my fave choice of the bunch, though if I am being totally honest I'm hoping more names will come into the fray as I'm not keen on any of them for the role.

  27. I'd have loved to see Ralph Fiennes as a Bond baddie... oh well, I guess Javier will do.

    I thought the Superman female role was for Ursa? I kind of like the idea of having Zod as the main villain. In any case, Diane Kruger as Lana is interesting as she's also non-American.

  28. from what i've heard Javie Bardem will be the new "bad" guy....but when it comes to Ralph Fiennes i am not sure who i will prefer to see in that role.
    I think they both will be great...

  29. @Dempsey
    ah, but as you can see from the update in the post, it seems Lana won't be in the film after all, but Ursa, the sidekick to the villain.

    @Flixy
    it is, you didn't see the update in the post :) There won't be any Lana, but probably Ursa. But off course, maybe they will come up with someone third in the end :)

    @Jeune
    they would make a great duo of villains :)

  37. I've not been incredibly impressed by good ol' Jake's acting abilities, so I'm not sure what to think about him being the main character in The Stand. Of course, any version can hopefully only be better than the last time they tried to movie-fy this awesome book.

    da, nije, prebacio se na neki svoj knjizevni sajt, moguce je da imas adresu tamo na Anime Jedinici.

    @Eric
    Gyllenhaal is just King's wish, it doesn't mean he'll get the role if the movie is made.
