STUNNING CHARACTER PICTURES AND EXCITING TRAILER FOR STARZ'S EPIC SERIES "SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA"!

The prequel to this year's smash hit series SPARTACUS BLOOD AND SAND is just about to start: January 21st brings SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA to Starz and you can check out the stunning pictures showing the main characters in the show lead by John Hannah (THE MUMMY) as Batiatus the owner of the ludus, Lucy Lawless (XENA) as his wife Lucretia, new cast addition Dustin Clare as the main hero Gannicus, Jaime Murray as Gaia, Marisa Ramirez as Melitta...
As you know, the prequel will describe how Batiatus and Lucretia had become successful in their business before the arrival of Spartacus. GODS OF THE ARENA will be set in the time when the
house of Batiatus was on the rise, basking in the glow of its infamous champion Gannicus, whose skill with a sword is matched only by his thirst for wine and women. These were the times a young Batiatus had been waiting for.
Poised to overthrow his father and take control, he will freely betray anyone to ensure his gladiators are in the highest demand. And he will have his loyal and calculating wife Lucretia by his side for every underhanded scheme, drawing on the brazen talents of her seductive friend Gaia when it counts. Together, they will stop at nothing to deceive the masses, seize power, and bleed Capua dry in this audacious prequel to SPARTACUS BLOOD AND SAND.
When it comes to the second season of BLOOD AND SAND, Starz still hasn't find the lead actor who will replace Andy Whitfiled who has, as you know, left the project due to his illness. You can also check out the super exciting, bloody and sexy trailer for GODS OF THE ARENA bellow with the tagline LIVE TO BECOME GOD OR DIE TRYING.

  3. I'm sorry, Dez, I really mean to come by more often but I've been crazy busy with family. However, the Spartacus series looks fantastic, I might go back before I watch the current one to watch the previous. Thanks for the news!

  13. I have yet to give this a chance; I never got into watching things like Rome so this will likely pass me by before I take much notice.

  14. you haven't watched ROME??? How is that possible? I thought you were my history expert!

  15. Ah, I can see why you're excited for this one, Dez. I'm with Andrew... waaaay too much skin :D It does have ROME vibe but too early to tell just from the trailer. Wow, surely swords & sandals genre is alive and well on cable!

  16. I've always had a soft spot for Australian and Kiwi artists, Flixy :) But you know that. SPARTACUS generally has no connection with ROME. ROME was more of a drama series with intrigues and political twists, while SPARTACUS depict the action and the struggle of enslaved gladiators.

  17. Yep, that's right Dez, that's why I'm more inclined to watch ROME than SPARTACUS... I prefer more dialog, less blood & gore.
