FIRST IMAGES OF JASON MOMOA FROM THE SET OF "CONAN"
Straight from the sets in Bulgaria, we have the first pics of Jason Momoa as Conan in the upcoming remake of the famous action adventure. Directed by Marcus Nispel new "Conan" will follow Robert E. Howard's popular comic character in a bit younger age. The first images are not totally clear, but how do you like his wardrobe, hair and general appearance? Is Momoa a Conan enough for you? Starring Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, Rachel Nichols, Saïd Taghmaoui ... the movie will appear in cinemas in 2011.
He looks like Conan to me. I don't like any kind of skirts on males, but that's only a minor thing.
ReplyDeleteNow we need pictures of other characters, some sword-fighting clips, official posters, and finally some kind of trailer.
It's to early for all the other things, Bels, they've just started shooting over in neighboring Bulgaria :)
ReplyDeleteWell, we know this won't break any ground in acting. If they can make it as comically cheesy fun as the original they may have a success, but there's very little talent here I'm interested in consistently.
ReplyDeleteUni, this is a plain and simple ancient adventure, which means there really isn't a lot of space to search for dramatic acting talent. It's not Shakespeare, it's Barbarian sword and axe wielding.
ReplyDeleteDez, you are so right! I'm not expecting depth, just head lopping.
ReplyDeletemmmm, thanks for the Monday eye candy. I love Jason Momoa.
ReplyDeleteReally curious about this one.
ReplyDeleteAlex, Palindrome I'm glad you like it :) I'll put new pictures from CONAN as soon as someone steals them and puts them on the Net :)
ReplyDeleteDirty Shorts, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY, hope we'll be seeing you here often :)
This is looking more and more like the Conan we’ve come to know in Howards books and comics. I just cant wait to see the trailer for this one.
ReplyDeletewe're waiting for the posters and trailers as well.
ReplyDeleteThis should be better than the version starring the Governator! :)
ReplyDeleteThey chose Bulgaria to shoot this movie, because everything here looks so vintage and so old, very suitable for the Conan era. Ha-ha!:) Another 'big' movie that was shot here years ago, was Brian De Palma's "Black Dahlia". And you know why? Because it was set in 1940s ;) Well, at least we have a lovely nature here :) Thanks for this post, Dezz! :)
ReplyDeleteyes, yes, we are very primeval :) BLACK DAHLIA was one of the worst movies I've ever had a misfortune to see, but the sets were nice.
