NEW PERIOD SET SHOWS
PRECINCT INSPECTOR TV SERIES
I have two new period set shows coming from Russia to present to you today as Hollywood is sleeping. PRECINCT INSPECTOR (Околоточный) is already streaming on Russian streamer Ivvy. The eight
episode series is set in the late 19th century. In the small town of N, a horrific crime takes place: the entire Okhapkin family is murdered. The case is taken on by Ivan Khvatov (Alexander Ustyugov), an experienced police officer with a military background who had been on the verge of retirement. As the investigation unfolds, he discovers that the motive for the murders was a large sum of money obtained from the sale of a farmstead. As he gathers clues the investigation leads him to a respected aristocrat Count Dobuzhinsky who is mired in gambling debts. However, the Count’s sister, Countess Olga (Marina Aleksandrova), refuses to believe that her brother could be a
murderer; she launches her own investigation to uncover the truth. While Olga is initially concerned with clearing her brother’s good name, her interest later shifts toward Khvatov himself and the other cases he is investigating.

There are also first images from adventure medical melodrama BOTKIN produced for online cinema Kion. The mid-19th century was an era when technological progress was already in full swing; yet, in St. Petersburg’s
hospitals, bloodletting and the use of lead-based compresses remained common medical practices. Progressive physician Sergey Botkin (Yevgeniy
Stychkin) employs the most cutting-edge methods, yet, beyond battling fatal diseases, he must also contend with outdated approaches to medical treatment. One day, Botkin discovers a young man named Vanya (Denis
Vlasenko) in his office, who claims to have arrived from the future. Thus, a 19th-century medical genius and a modern-day medical student join forces, combining their knowledge and efforts to save people from illness.
