LADY MACBETH
TO GET A BIG SCREEN MOVIE ADAPTATION

According to Deadline,
Kari Skogland is developing a movie adaptation of
Ava Reid's historical novel
LADY MACBETH a gothic retelling of
Shakespeare’s play
Macbeth centered on the character of Lady Macbeth. The 2024 novel reimagines one of literature’s most enduring figures through a dark, intimate lens, following a young noblewoman thrust into a politically arranged marriage in a brutal medieval world. As she navigates survival, power, and identity within a system designed to constrain her, her transformation unfolds into a portrait of ambition, resilience, and consequence.
Dezmond, what catches my attention about this news is that Lady Macbeth is still inspiring new stories more than four centuries later. There aren't many characters capable of surviving that long and continuing to take center stage in novels and films. Shakespeare must have done something right for us to keep returning to them again and again. A big hug.
ReplyDeleteShe was viciously evil and people secretly like evil and darkness, it attracts them for some reason. Here they will try to justify her evilness using a feminist agenda which is very modern these days. Returning the hug.
DeleteHello, Dezmond! I'd like to watch all historical films you tell us about.
ReplyDeleteWe do love the historical ones. Russia is world's top country for period set projects. Mostly because, unlike some other countries, you have rich and heroic past.
