THE STORY FOLLOWS
the chorus
master and most of the men of the ambitious local Choral Society, who
have volunteered for the front. Under
the direction of the demanding, driven Dr. Guthrie (Fiennes), the
Choral recruits a crop of teenage boys and girls. Together they discover
the joys of singing and the urgency of desire as the new boys come to
terms with their imminent conscription into the army. The pic explores
the humor and humanity at the heart of a community facing an uncertain
future.
When I think of Ralph Fiennes, Voldemort or that Nazi in Schindler's List come to my mind...this one can be interesting, though the music of choral can be tedious.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting that I have never really watched Ralph as a villain in anything. I watched him last weekend in 28 YEARS LATER where he has a rather bizarre almost humiliating role, but he looks so beautiful in this one above with those big blue eyes of his.
DeleteInteressante o filme, vi um vídeo no YouTube pessoas pedindo pra dá um Oscar para o Ralph, Dezmond você concorda?
ReplyDeleteIn older days the whole cast would have been nominated for Oscars, but these days they nominate only the worst of actors, mostly.

DeleteSadly so.
DeleteYou know, I was just reminiscing yesterday about my choir days -- both in big choirs and small. Miss that sense of community and collaboration. *sigh* Looking forward to seeing that experience brought to the screen.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should start your own choir LOL
