Coming from ITV is a trailer with Sheridan Smith in their new mini TV series I FOUGHT THE LAW based on Ann Ming’s book For the Love of Julie,
which tells the heart-breaking story of Ming’s 15-year-long battle for
her
daughter Julie’s murderer to face justice. Ming’s daughter was found
in the bathroom of her house in 1990, 80 days after she had
disappeared, and the
man who killed her was twice acquitted following
mistrials before eventually admitting to the murder. The archaic double
jeopardy law meant 
he couldn’t be tried twice for the same crime and it
is this law that Ming and her family successfully overturned. The series will hit the screens this Sunday August 31st going head to head with BBC's King and Conqueror saga.

I do remember that you have written about this one..the trailer is too short.
ReplyDeleteWe did not have the air date before. The Brits always make their trailers short, they do not want to reveal everything like Americans.
DeleteGood on her to fight the law. I would have taken the law into my own hands after the not guilty verdict came back. I believe with every fiber of my being that I could take someone out and not feel an ounce of guilt if they murdered one of my children.
ReplyDeleteIn last few years we see in my country that that is not necessarily the truth, people think they would react but when the shove comes to push they do nothing. They are beating our kids up, breaking their bones and people are still holding festivals, concerts like shit is not happening, the school is about to start on Monday even though the dictator invaded my own college in Novi Sad with the police breaking the autonomy of university. I have no faith in people anymore.
DeleteI don't think most people have the mindset to push back like that. They like to believe they do, but in the end are all talk. They are too afraid of jail or their religion says they'll sit in eternal hell and that keeps the masses in line. That's a good thing overall, but then there are those of us who have the mindset that when the law favors the criminal, one must become a criminal to exact justice. I don't know anyone personally that I think could or would take the law into their own hands, aside from Jason. One must lack a certain trait in their personality to be able to do so, and I'd suspect you'd find the lacking trait in those who are neurodivergent. Allison likes to tell me that I need to change that mindset because I'm too pretty for jail and I'll become someone's bitch. I like to tell her I will quickly adapt and have my own bitches in jail LOL.
DeleteThere are many in this country, like in yours, who will bury their heads in the sand and just say "oh well" when the world is burning down. I can't respect that. I admire your protesters and those who fight back against the injustices that are playing out there. Become the criminal to fight the criminal in order for justice to prevail.
It is terrible, here in my country it is literally all down to us professors and teachers, not even doctors and lawyers are there to support us, so it is easy for him to retaliate against us, just last week ahead of the new school year he fired more than 50 teachers and principals who support the protesters. That is a massive number for a small country which does not have enough teachers as it is. His answer is = college and high school are not obligatory. He literally wants to destroy the education system to the ground and people are just spreading their assholes to be fucked by him.
DeleteSounds like he's taking a page out of Trump's playbook and is wanting a country full of uneducated citizens. Because the uneducated are much easier to control and bend at will.
