A TALE OF TSAR SALTAN
Over from Russia your trusted spy has managed to dig out the first images from their ambitious and expensive fairy tale movie A TALE OF TSAR SALTAN based on the famous folk story which has just finished shooting the first part of production and will continue next summer with a February 2026 release date set. The role of Tsar Saltan was given to Pavel Prinyulny, Alexey Henzhen is Prince Guidon, Elizaveta Moryak is Queen Mother with Alice Kot as the Swan Princess. A massive 6,000 square meter palace and city were built for the film and more than 500 costumes were sewn for the actors and extras in this enchantingly lavish movie adventure based on a beloved story that most of us have listened to in our childhoods. Sarik Andreasyan is directing.
WHAT IS THE MAGICAL STORY OF THE FILM?
Tsar Saltan, who was staying in a village house, was lucky enough to fall in love with a sweet, kind, simple girl - Annushka. Annushka was lucky enough to marry the Tsar and give birth to his son. Her sisters and stepmother were lucky enough, as if by magic, to follow Annushka to the royal palace. But the sisters and stepmother did not appreciate their happiness, they desired more and started an intrigue. While Saltan is away, they change the letter and expose Annushka and the newborn heir to the Tsar in a bad light. Saltan is furious, but orders him to wait for his return. However, the letter with the order is replaced again. As a result, the queen and her son are sealed in a barrel and thrown into the ocean to certain death...
