SEE RUSSELL TOVEY, TOBIAS SANTELMANN IN VIAPLAY'S NEW POST APOCALYPTIC SERIES THE FORTRESS

   VIAPLAY'S THE FORTRESS
SF TV SERIES WITH RUSSELL TOVEY
Viaplay is finally releasing their new post apocalyptic series THE FORTRESS with Russell Tovey, Tobias Santelmann and Eili Harboe in the lead roles.
The Fortress will stream from July 16th
It will be available on Viaplay channels from July 16th and also on SBS in Australia.
SET IN 2037 this seven episode series sees a Norway that has severed all ties with the rest of the world. The decision to isolate, made by a Norwegian government led by members of the Our Way party, came after various crises had plagued countries across Europe (and the world) for years. Surrounded by an enormous wall, the nation has become entirely self-sufficient, and the fortunate inhabitants enjoy sheltered lives in a self-sustaining Nordic paradise. Then there are those on the other side of the wall: the non-Norwegian people held in refugee camps, surrounded by barbed wire and armed soldiers. When a deadly pandemic breaks out and affects Norway’s food supply, a government advisor states that the cause came “from the outside, of course.” But did it, really? In the meantime, the Norwegians soon realize that the wall meant to protect them is now holding them prisoner.

  1. To isolate from the rest of the world sounds just impossible. Would love to watch this series...and is her hair real? Gorgeous! I wish my hair were thick like that!
p.s Today it's really nice...it was 15C this early morning when we went out for a walk, now probably 20C and it ain't raining. Tomorrow will be raining again..is 43C a norm there? That must be unbearable...what about those elder people? They probably suffer even more and worse.

    1. Given that they are separated by mountains from the rest of the Scandinavia and by sea from Europe it is doable. We lived for years in my country cut off from the world when we were under NATO'S embargo and it was hell, but we survived.

No 43C is not normal, we usually have the same climate as you do, this is the result of global warming. I went shopping this morning 15 minutes to the local supermarket and had SP50 cream on me, neck cooler around my neck and white clothes and came back red as lobster as it is close to 50C in the sun where there is no shade. Everybody is suffering especially as we are a poor country and retired people cannot really afford ACs. I am trying to convince my mother to buy an AC in the ground floor of the house. I have mine at the first floor, but it cannot cool the whole house as we have a 120 square meters villa.

  2. I’d like to get over there before they cut everyone off. Isolation from the rest of the world sounds heavenly right now.

    1. Indeed. I often felt isolated like that as a kid because we lived on a farm, did not really have any guests and rarely ventured into shops or city.
