Premiering July 4th over in New Zealand is their new comedy series MADAM in which Australian star Rachel Griffiths plays the head of a brothel with Martin Henderson as her husband. The ten
episode series sees her playing Mack Leigh who lives in small-town New Zealand with her husband Rob and their two sons.

What was meant to be a short visit became permanent thanks to the free
healthcare for their disabled son. When Mack discovers Rob’s been seeing
a sex worker, she’s surprisingly not angry but inspired. After all, sex
work is legal in New Zealand, and her marriage has lacked intimacy for
years. Always a renegade and a bit of an entrepreneur, Mack learns the
only brothel in town is run by a douchebag. With no money and no
experience, she decides to open her own ‘feminist, ethical brothel. Mack
forges Rob’s signature on a home loan, leases a motel, and recruits an
eclectic swagger of mostly rookie sex workers.

ReplyDeleteWhy would she be angry and not him, she is the one who has not been giving him any fun in bed for years. He is a fit potent man why would anyone be depriving him of sex?
DeleteWay to turn lemons into lemonade. Now she can make lots of money, give him half, divorce his ass, and they can both live free and happy. Seems like neither know how to communicate- him with the cheating instead of talking to his wife and her with the forging of the signature to start up her business.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting that the series got an award at Monte Carlo TV festival yesterday, so it is getting awards even before airing.

DeleteIt is not, that festival has world premieres over there and this one had it and won the whole festival.
DeleteIt sounded like it had won awards without having been seen yet. That's how I was interpreting your comment. If it had been seen and won awards afterwards, good on them!
DeleteWell it hasn't been seen by the TV audience, but yes by the jury who voted for it.
