Heike Makatsch, it chronicles the infamous Congress of Vienna, an opulent, nine-month-long, lavish celebration that led to a century of peace in Europe for the first time.

Following Napoleon Bonaparte’s exile to Elba, kings and crown princes, ministers and spies, noble ladies and mistresses, soldiers of fortune, inventors, artists and concubines celebrate and negotiate in Vienna, where the fate of Europe is ultimately decided on the dance floor and in the boudoir.

congress is led by delegations from England, Russia, Austria, Prussia and France – and steered by strong women who use their influence to support peace negotiations – in what is a high-stakes political game involving luck, money, love and power, set against the spectacular backdrop of Vienna.
Don't know any of those actors...well, Vladimir Burlakov actually looks familiar, but can't recall any film or series that he played.

Jesus Maria, Angie, what do you mean you do not know any of the actors, these are literally most of your most famous actors over in Deutchland. Even I know Erwin und Axel from many Deutche serien. And Daniel is my liebsling boo. I adore Vladimir too and also sweet Scheer. Should be a fun series as many countries were formed in Vienna, mine got independence from the Ottomans after 500 years of slavery at the congress in Berlin later on.
