The film opens this November around Europe
After premiering and winning an award over at Cannes Film Festival as a part of the official competition historical drama THE PASSION OF DODIN BOUFFANT (La Passion de Dodin Bouffant) previously also known as La Pot Au Feu has got yet another title THE TASTE OF THINGS and also a trailer, along with the release date: after spending Autumn at film festivals around the world it will hit most of Europe during November and December with USA release date on February 9th next year. The movie has also been selected as French representative in the run for Best Foreign Movie Academy Award next year.
 
 THE STORY FOLLOWS
Eugénie (Juliette Binoche), an outstanding cook, who has worked for the famous gastronome Dodin (Benoit Magimel who in real life has a daughter with Binoche) for 20 years. By dint of spending time together in the kitchen, a loving passion has been built between them where love is closely linked to the practice of gastronomy. From this union are born dishes all more tasty and delicate than the others which go so far as to amaze the greatest of this world. However, Eugénie, eager for freedom, never wanted to marry Dodin. The latter then decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.

  1. The film from Juliette Binoche I have watched is Chocolate. I wonder if she really cooks in real life.

    1. Given that she is a mother she probably does. She does not, though, have the looks of a woman who enjoys food.

  2. Idk, my dad loved to cook and eat and stayed paper thin his whole life. Poor guy was buying those heavy calorie drink mixes to try to put in weight and just never could. Me on the other hand can look at a pic of food and gain 400 pounds.

    2. I know it was a source of self esteem issues with him being so tall and thin. I imagine the same way an obese person who can't lose weight looks at their body. Same mental coin, just opposite sides for each. I suppose the saying is true that we always want what we can't have.
