In the depressively poor offer that Netflix has in store for us for the rest of the year, one of the series that we might give a try is time travelling crime series
BODIES which will stream from October 19th! The eight part thriller is a small screen adaptation of the 2015 graphic novel by Si Spencer. The story focuses on four detectives in four different London eras who find themselves investigating the same murder: 1890s overachiever Edmond Hillinghead (Kyle Soller), 1940s adventurer Karl Whiteman (Jacob Fortune Lloyd), 2010s Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan (Amuka Okaflor) and Maplewood (Shira Haas), an amnesiac from post-apocalyptic 2050, who brings a haunting perspective. Together, the four set out to uncover a conspiracy spanning 150 years. Stephen Graham also stars.

MEET THE CHARACTERS
LONDON, 1890. As Jack the Ripper stalks the streets, Inspector Edmond
Hillinghead, the city’s most diligent detective, applies his skills to
an even harder case. The victim is an unidentified male. The killer may
have powerful 
allies. And Edmond’s darkest secret may be exposed if he
gets too close to the truth!
LONDON, 1940. As the Blitz rains bombs down on the city, Inspector
Charles Whiteman reigns over its streets. He escaped the Nazis in Poland

discovers a mysterious murder victim, his double life may be destroye.
LONDON, 2014. As racist rioters wreak havoc in the name of their
prejudiced patriotism, 
Detective Sergeant Shahara Hasan leads the fight
against them. As a Muslim cop, she’s English to the core. But the corpse
she’s uncovered may reveal something rotten deep below the surface.

scrambling pulsewave plagues the last
survivors of a terrifying techno-apocalypse, the amnesiac young woman

This sounds interesting. Yes, in terms of period drama Netflix is bringing little this Fall. This month we get The Club (second season). November brings the much publicized All the Light We Cannot See, and I've seen "Bridgerton is coming soon" notices.By the way, I hear you about purchading a TV set, don't become a lifelong addict like me.

DeleteHopefully it won't be too long before your next translation comes through. The economy is so dang bad here right now. My sales are down 40% and it really sucks. We're pinching our pennies just trying to ride out this current administration but everyone is hurting here right now. Will you be going to your book fair in Belgrade again this year?
