IT'S A CHAOS IN 19TH CENTURY CHINATOWN IN HBO MAX' WARRIOR EPIC TV SERIES SEASON 3 TRAILER!

   WARRIOR SERIES SEASON 3
LET THE WAR BEGIN!
It seems like we waited forever after it was transferred from Cinemax to HBO Max, but the air date for the third season of fan favourite WARRIOR series is finally closing upon us: new season will premiere June 29th with a

three episode launch and you can check out the brand new longer trailer below. In the wake of the race riots that upended Chinatown in season two, Mai Ling (Dianne Doan) uses her government connections to consolidate power, while Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) and the Hop Wei must find new ways to survive. Tom Weston Jones, Kieran Bew, Joe Taslim, Dean Jagger, Olivia Cheng, Hoon Lee, Langley Kirkwood, Mark Dacascos all return to the 19th century set martial arts saga based on the original writings from legendary Bruce Lee. Telly Leung has joined season three as Marcel, a nomadic Chinese nightclub singer, working on the Barbary Coast; Kevin Otto as Horace Clark, Bill’s (Kieran Bew) condescending brother-in-law and owner of a successful cement factory; Adam Rayner as Douglas Strickland III, a ruthless railroad baron and an old friend of Nellie’s husband; Nick Cordileone as Edmund Mosely, a Secret Service agent who comes to San Francisco to pursue an important case. Dominique Maher as Catherine Archer, a political booster who takes an interest in Mayor Buckley; Neels Claasen as Benjamin Atwood, the newly-appointed Chief of the San Francisco Police; Sean Marco as Stewart Gumm, Mayor Buckley’s conniving right-hand man; Jazzara Jaslyn as Eliza Pendleton, a wealthy socialite who takes an interest in Mai Ling; Colin Moss as Franklin Thayer, a charismatic candidate for San Francisco Mayor; Sizo Mahlangu as Isaac, the ruthless lieutenant to Happy Jack and a notorious Barbary Coast gangster. Season two ended in December 2020, so it has been a very long wait, but although the series had modest viewings in linear airing, it reached legendary numbers when both seasons started streaming on HBO Max, so the third season was ordered, with possible fourth coming our way too!

  1. Hollywood can't come up with a better story other than kongfu? Bloody boring...

    1. This one is not boring, it is the most spectacular series ever with unbelievably amazing cast, intricate sets and storyline and lots of extremely visible passion of the show creators. This is why it became such a sleeper hit and why it has grown itself a wildly massive fanbase who love it almost religiously. I expect the new season will break all possible Nielsen streaming records.

  2. 8.4 in IMDB, the fandom is waiting anxiously, but I have questions about the trailer. Many characters don't show up, like Zing (not that I miss him) and what happened to Sophie and Penny?

    1. It is interesting how on Cinemax it had below one million viewers, but on Max it got at one point to the number one spot at Nielsen charts which means it gathered hundreds of millions of viewing hours.

I am guessing that, athough long, the trailer did not have space to show everyone, but we did see some gay kissing and lesbie cuddling :O And we did see my boy Weston Jones!

    2. Yeah, but I didn't see the Black girl he was shacking up last season. Yes, Hong is getting some and Ah Toy continues her affair with the rich White widow.

    3. I kinda wish Ah Sam an Ah Toy would end up together as they have a really strong chemistry, but they keep giving him some silly girls who are not his league. I also wish they give Ah Sam and Jun a bit of a gay moment as bromance is definitely there in the air LOL Or they could put Tom Weston Jones as Hong's new lover, imagine that forbidden combo / ex cop with a young Asian mobster oh the hotness....

    4. It’s a matter of coherence and being faithful to Bruce Lee’s original project. History buffs complained that the real Ah Toy was straight. Shannon and Tropper had to bow to HBO sensibilities and made her a lesbian. “Turning her”now would be incoherent and would provoke an outcry from LGTB public. Many hetero viewers would like to see Ah Toy and Ah Sahm together. I’m not one of them. Like someone was saying in Reddit (I think), it’s good to show friendship between people that could be a couple but rather have another sort of relationship. I’m glad to see that AS is capable to befriend a woman and not just have sex with her. I also see them as siblings just like I perceive AT as his protectress, wiser and stronger than he is. She’s the opposite of Mai Ling who lets her vindictiveness and ambition interfere with her sisterly devotion (very important in Chinese culture).
Going back to Bruce Lee’s original project, he projected himself into Ah Sahm. He said, AS was Bruce Lee if he had lived in the Far West. In real life, Lee was happily married to a White woman. It moved me to know that he married Linda when interracial marriages were still forbidden in California (they had to do it secretly), so Ah Sahm is bound to find happiness with a white woman, Penny or somebody else, but not creatures like Vega (nobody liked their pairing) or this sing song girl.
I also read Asian women complaining about Ah Sahm and Vega, saying that producers have no problem casting Asian women romancing White men, but they seldom go to the opposite way, that Ah Sahm and Penny was a refreshing change. It’s true, there was a lovely White girl-Japanese boy in Tokyo Vice and they killed him.
Going back to Warrior’s rating ascending once in Max. Is it because it got more publicity or more viewers? I often think (it’s why I keep my humble blogs) that a tiny bit of publicity could help great series that are hidden in the vaults of stingy platforms. Now, HBO has a Rumanian series called Spy Master. I was amazed that after two weeks and only four episodes it has reached 8,1, higher than White Lotus

    5. But AH and AT already had sex before, she is bisex and sleeps with her customers too, this lady is her first women in the show.
It got more viewers at Max, everybody has HBO while not many had Cinemax. There is also word of a mouth at play, that is how some international programmes become massive on streaming.

  3. Not sure if I would like this or not. I might check it out to see.

    1. I actually think you would absolutely love it, I do not watch martial arts series and films but this one is perfection in every way, highly entertaining and well written.

  4. I’m saving this for when Jason’s ready to watch it with me. We haven’t had much time for programs with all the travel we do though. I feel like we’ve been watching The Man in High Castle for 100 years now and we’re only one season 1 😑

    1. I tried reading that book a couple of times and never managed further than page two or three LOL

    2. I actually like the program, but the episodes do seem to drag on. I never tried the book, but I probably wouldn't like it much. If the show drags, I imagine the book is even worse.
