Amazon Prime Video has a surprise for you today in the form of first images from season two of their epic fantasy series WHEEL OF TIME announcing September 1st as the return date! Two years have almost passed
from the first season which did not really get love from the audience, so it will be interesting to see how will this one go. Adapted from Robert Jordan
novels it follows a farm boy, Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski) who learns he is The Dragon Reborn, a dangerous figure destined to save the world. 
Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful sorceresses must reckon with Rand’s burgeoning power and encroaching madness.

woman who found and guided them, is now
powerless to help, so they must find other sources of strength — in each
other, or themselves. In the Light, or
the Dark.
The Wheel of Time also stars Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran! Our dear Arnas Fedaravicius from The Last Kingdom will also join the cast in this season.

FROM NEW COSTUME DRAMA
First image today from new colonial era Dutch drama movie SWEET DREAMS from director Ena Sendijarevic. To arrive this year, it is set on a remote Indonesian island, during the waning days of the colonial era, where Dutch sugar factory owner Jan and his wife, Agathe are at the top of the food chain. That is, until Jan upon returning from his nightly visit to his native
concubine Siti, suddenly drops dead in front of his wife. Desperate to keep the privileges of her status quo, Agathe forces her estranged son Cornelis and his heavily pregnant wife Josefien, to travel from Europe and take over the family business. In the midst of a worker’s uprising, Cornelis displays his plans for progressive change, but when Jan’s will puts Siti at the forefront of the family estate, ideals prove to be idle and blood thicker than water.

I haven't watched The Wheel of Time but I might.
ReplyDeleteIt was unwatchable, I do not know how I survived till the end, probably because of Daniel Henney who is the ultimate cat's meow :)
DeleteImagine your husband leaving some of your family business to his lover. Good thing my family business is in my name. If Jason is ever stupid enough to grab himself another mate, at least the hussy isn't going to get her hands on my business!

I recently did a review of a book on our Mileva Maric, who was the wife of Albert Einstein, and she, as the mother of his kids and his close assistant, took all of the money from Nobel prize, which is one million bucks, and did not let any of it get into the hands of his second wife.
He'd certainly be entitled to half in a divorce, but should he die in a mysterious way after taking a lover, well, the beyatch wouldn't get a penny of it lol.
DeleteSeriously though, if Mileva Maric was there from the onset and had to put up with all of the craziness and helped him achieve that Nobel prize, the second wife didn't deserve a penny of it. It's like Jason used to snap at people when they'd make snarky comments that it must be nice that I was staying home because he was making a nice sum of money at his job that could afford me to have a cushy lifestyle. Excuse me? I may not have been there at his job helping him climb the ladder, but it was because I stayed home to raise our children and took over the school obligations, dental, medical, sports, and everything in between that he was able to reach the top of the company. I'm glad I had a partner who recognized my worth even though I wasn't working outside of the home. And the funny thing was, I was still finding ways to bring in an income that matched what I was making when I was employed in the workforce, but nobody knew that. They just assumed I sat on my ass at home while he was running a company all hours of the day. So, yes, if I would have been a Mileva and helped my husband rise to the top, I'd do everything in my power to make sure the next wife didn't see any of it as she didn't put in the work for it.

DeleteShe was with him for ten years or so, had two sons with him, one gone crazy later on, and at the beginning she gave birth to his daughter but Albert sent her back to Novi Sad to have the child there secretly so that the scandal would not ruin his career and since she gave up the child for adoption and the kid died later on, she never got over it and became depressed and gloomy and that is why they divorced. She also studied physics but did not finish because of the childbirth. She did work on his theories, assisted him, wrote his lectures and articles etc. She was not happy with the million though, as her son has gone crazy too and tried to kill her so she had to put him in a looney house.
What a sad life she lived. A dead child, a crazy child, and never getting to finish her studies probably left her unfulfilled. Millions wouldn’t buy happiness in any form under those circumstances.
