Sky has released first look at their new seven part German dystopian series HELGOLAND 513 that will air on Sky and NOW streamer. It’s 2036 and Helgoland has become the last safe haven for humanity. A small community of survivors are entrenched on Germany's only deep-sea island following an apocalypse that has thrown the rest of the world into chaos. A totalitarian society is established, tolerating only 513 people on the island at any one time.
The survivors trapped on the island have limited resources to share and an inhumane social-ranking system determines the lives of each of the 513 inhabitants. Helgoland’s only doctor is high on the priority list, whilst others are far behind and have to fight for a better place and, their ultimate survival. But they face another threat from the outside. On the mainland, a group of rebels are preparing to conquer the island and disrupt the last safe place for mankind.

Would love to move to Helgoland if the houses there weren't so expensive...well, everything these days is bloody expensive everywhere. Happy Easter and enjoy some sweets :-)) My husband is looking forward to eat his Lindt Easter bunny..

DeleteI read it as Legoland at first and thought, yep. That place is a dystopian hellscape every time we've been by there. I told Jason when we go to Georgia in May, he's taking the boys to Legoland while my bestie and I hit up a french bistro and have some girl time LOL

I did when I announced it some long time ago. I've never had Legos so I don't get the hype, but I did see some of their unusual sets and they can be fun, they have a really wide range, methinks. One of my publishers used to publish Lego books.
DeleteThey are a neat creation for people who don't have kids. Allison went through a phase where she wanted all of the girly princess sets. Uber expensive and the dang pieces were all over my house. I was so happy when she packed them away. There are some really talented artists who make amazing things with their imagination and Legos. I, on the other hand, can only make a square LOL

DeleteThey are boxed up and put in the attic for if she wants to sell them some day or if she has kids of her own and wants to pass them down. I think half of my attic is filled with their old toys. One of my favorite toys though was passed down to me from Jason's mom. There was a hot monster toy in the 80's that I wanted. Mom couldn't afford it though. I made mention of it to my mil a few years back and she was like "wait. I have Jason's in my basement!" She passed it on to me since my girls were too old by then, so I only had to wait 40 years to get my own used version LOL, but it makes me smile when I see it.

DeleteI did not have toys other than some broken ones passed onto me from my brother. I just had what was broken and left from him, parents did not feel like buying me something as well, so most of my childhood was a second hand experience of everything. I did love plastic little animals as I liked to build farms and zoos with them.
That makes me so sad for you. I sometimes hope there is another life after this one and it will make up for all of the injustices you had to endure in this one. I will say for the many faults of my mom, she did try her best to make sure we had magical Christmases and birthdays, even if she couldn't afford much. I remember wanting a pound puppy plush animal, and while she couldn't afford that either, she did sew me one from some scrap fabric that was just as good as the store bought versions. I also loved playing with those little plastic animals to build farms and zoos. Paper dolls too.
DeleteThat was very nice of her. It is the attention and thought that counts, and since I did not have those I have no relationship with my toxic mother and brother.
