SEE ROBET MAASER IN 1ST IMAGES AND DYNAMIC TEASER FOR NETFLIX WW2 SET HISTORICAL ACTION FILM BLOOD & GOLD

  BLOOD & GOLD TEASER
AND 1ST NETFLIX MOVIE PICS
The only thing I have for you this sleepy beginning of the week are first images and a teaser for Netflix' German movie original BLOOD & GOLD which will arrive to the streamer May 29th with a global premiere. If you watched the second season of the streamer's historical series Barbarians you probably still remember how we drooled in buckets when wildly gorgeous German star Robert Maaser went deliciously shirtless unveiling his outrageously hot body as the blond hunk of a warrior Odvulf, a giant with a tender heart, and now we might hopefully see him shirtless again in this one as he has the lead role.

SET IN THE FINAL DAYS OF WW2
the story follows a German soldier who, desperate to return home to his daughter, deserts his post, only to find himself caught in a battle against SS troops on a mission to uncover hidden gold. Spring, 1945. On his way home from the front to his daughter, German deserter Heinrich (Robert Maaser) stumbles into the clutches of a marauding SS troop. Their leader, VonStarnfeld (Alexander Scheer), leaves him hanging in a tree. It’s a good thing for Heinrich, then, that Elsa (Marie Hacke), a courageous young farmer, saves him and hides him on her farm. Meanwhile, the SS troop is searching for a Jewish treasure hidden in a nearby village, and encounters bitter resistance from the fed-up villagers, who want to keep the treasure for themselves. Soon Heinrich and Elsa are dragged against their will into this action-packed hunt for the gold — culminating in a bloody showdown at the village church.

    1. Pffftt, some German you are if I know your scene better than you LOL He also starred in Tribes of Europe series also at Netflix. I quite like him, my fave after Jannis Niewohner and Louis Hoffmann and Janick Schumman and also Laurence Rupp, I actually quite like your actors, actresses not so much if at all.

  2. This sounds very good, and the last days of war in Germany are seldom treated in film.

    1. Nor in any other country, it was such a vacuum, days of payback and lawlessness. A lot of unbridled killings and thievery mixed with unscrupulous behaviour and opportunism. Some of the worst atrocities happened in those days. But people needed to vent off after all they survived.

  3. The pictures from this are quite dramatic. Sounds like it might be worth a watch.

  4. Again with the happy music while they loot and destroy and kill all around them. Very odd.

    1. Judging by the trailer it might have a light, comedic element to it.
