  INSOMNIA THRILLER NOVEL
GETS A TV SERIES ORDER
Paramount + has just ordered their new UK original: Sarah Pinborough's thriller book INSOMNIA will be adapted into TV series by
The book was published April last year
Left Bank Pictures. It tells the story of successful career woman Emma Averill, who fears she is losing her mind after suffering from sleep deprivation two weeks before turning 40. Her mother had a similar experience at the same age, suffering a violent psychotic breakdown on the night of her 40th birthday. But even as she relives the experience of her mother, Averill believes other forces may be at work. Her mother is hospitalized with a sudden injury, her estranged sister returns without warning, and she feels as if she is being watched. Only by investigating the truth of her painful past, can she find the answers to her present. Production should start by the end of the year.

  1. Paramount seems to be busy with constant new projects. It is doing well, doesn't cancel as much or experience fiascoes like other big streaming platforms.

    1. They are still relatively new, and have less programmes to cancel. We had a bloodbath of network cancellings last night as well. I do love a good cancel bloodbath, though LOL

    2. What programs were cancelled?

    3. Tons of network shows that were long due to be killed. Billions among others. Nothing that I watch personally. I think Shadow and Bone will be axed too as it had just 7 million viewing hours in the first week compared to 40 million from last year LOL They also cut House of Dragons number of episodes in the second season, it will be shorter than the first one. But now that they arrested poor Trumpie I imagine civil unrest will start over there with strikes as well, so probably a lot of budget and episode and project cuts await us.

    4. Yes, I read that Ghosts was also cancelled. It's two bad, Billions is the one show I can watch with my brother and that we both enjoy (we are also watching Perry Mason 2 but it sucks). They are planning to make several Billions spin offs but if it's a question of money...I never liked Shadow ad Bone and I'm not looking forward to House of Dragon 2. The one casualty of these times of unrest and financial crisis will be the period drama. I was checking the Euro TV calendar for April, only one period piece is coming to USA: Trasatlantic.

    5. Yes, the UK Ghosts, but I think they are getting one more final season. Also Sky's Britannia, which should not have got three seasons to start with. Tom Jones is also arriving the last day of April, but we are not looking forward to that garbage. I truly don't know what I will write about in my Sunday spotlights this month...

  2. I first thought it was a remake from Al Pacino's Insomnia...unfortunately, we don't have Paramount. Now we are watching the story of Spotify.

  3. I read Behind Her Eyes and loved the twist at the end. I didn't know the author had a new book out. I'll have to read it then watch this film!

    1. You also have a Behind Her Eyes series on Netflix with Tom Bateman. Pinborough was so nice to retweet us today to her fans.

    2. Yes, I watched that one not too long ago. Though I preferred the book, the series was well done.

    3. I haven't seen it myself as I did not like the female leads.

    4. I agree. The two ladies cast were not what I had envisioned from the books. I was able to look past my dislike for them though and did end up enjoying it for what it was.

    5. Glad you have! I've started ECHOES with Matt Bomer last Friday, and it is uber weird.
