Some three years ago your trusted spy was one of the first ones to inform you about the slate of Disney Plus future productions in South America and now the first one among them is coming to the small screens: THE ROAR OF THE BUTTER FLIES (El grito de las mariposas) will stream on Disney's South American streamer Star + from March 8th and will later on probably arrive to Disney + itself for the viewers in the rest of the world. THE STORY

Between the year 1930 and the day of his assassination in 1961, Rafael Leónidas Trujillo (Luis Alberto Garcia), alias "El Chivo", turned the life of the Caribbean country of Dominica into a tragic opera starring a monster who could not bear any opinion against him, much less a "no" from the lips of a woman. Planned murders from power, abuses and gender violence, artistic and sporting events, and absolute control of the media, were the tools put into practice by one of the most grotesque tyrants in memory of the 20th century to control the people. Only a brave few risked their lives to face it. Minerva Mirabal (Sandy Hernandez), nicknamed "La Mariposa", was one of them. A unique, beautiful, cultured and committed woman, whose short life with a tragic outcome hastened the end of the "Fiesta del Chivo".
