NEW TV SERIES ADAPTATIONS: STEINBECK'S THE GRAPES OF WRATH AND LOVE OF MY LIFE WITH AMY ADAMS!

 FIFTH SEASON'S NEW SHOWS
THE GRAPES OF WRATH
Grapes of Wrath will become a TV series
Fifth Season is preparing two new TV shows, one of them is the adaptation of John Steinbeck novel THE GRAPES OF WRATH which is set during the Great Depression and follows a poor family of farmers driven out of their home in Oklahoma and set out for California. Although it will be period set, it might have more contemporary music. Ramin Bahrani is writing and directing, but not before 2024. I already told you before that the same company is preparing a series adaptation of Stenibeck's EAST OF EDEN too with Florence Poo over at Netflix.

  LOVE OF MY LIFE
Amy Adams will lead the other project, a TV series adaptation of Rosie Walsh’s New York Times best-selling book LOVE OF MY LIFE which tells the story of marine biologist Emma, whose obituary writer husband Leo researches everything about his wife’s life, which is a lie, when she suffers a serious illness.

    1. Kinda like most American writers of that era, it was a nightmare reading them all at college.

    2. True, Faulkner was a better writer but not that uplifting. Papa Hem managed to get a depressing story in three-word sentences, and loving Scott Fitzgerald as much as I do, I have to face the fact that his novels drip Celtic melancholy. You know whom I love from that Lost Generation? He is underrated although he won a Pulitzer, Louis Bromfield

    3. Have not heard of him, the only one I found even remotely readable was Dreiser.

  3. Haven’t heard of the book, but I’ll be reading it first too. Amy sure is playing some crazy lady characters lately. A far step away from her character in enchanted.

    1. I feel she is always playing the same thing.

    2. I thought the same thing. I loved her in Enchanted, but I feel like she typecast herself trying to get away from the good girl vibe by taking on the same roles of a mentally disturbed woman.

    3. Exactly, she is always some suffering woman, always some drama, never anything fun or different.
