VISIT THE 1920'S THE HOUSE OF DREAMS IN BERLIN IN NEW GERMAN PERIOD SET TV SERIES

 THE HOUSE OF DREAMS
PERIOD SET TV SERIES
Now, this one started last night, September 18th, but I forgot to tell you on time, naughty me, not that most of you even have RTL + unless you live in Germany or in one of the European countries that have it in their cable
The series started streaming last night
system, but even then you'd have to know Deutch. I am rather sure, though, that THE HOUSE OF DREAMS (Das Haus der Träume)will at some point be available on MHz Choice with English subtitles.

  THE 12 PART TV SERIES
takes us to Berlin in the 1920s, Jewish businessman and war veteran Arthur Grünberg (Alexander Scheer) wanted to open Germany's first credit department store in the completely impoverished district of Berlin. There, even the little people should be able to fulfill a few of their dreams thanks to cheap purchase, that's his noble goal, which, however, is not so easy to implement due to the financing. In addition to business problems and the burgeoning National Socialism, he and his wife Alice Grünberg (Nina Kunzendorf) are also struggling with marital problems. Plus, her son Harry (Ludwig Simon) lives very differently from the rest of the family and spends his nights in Berlin as abar pianist. He has no interest whatsoever in the family business. The penniless Vicky Maler (Naemi Florez), who is soon able to earn at least a little money as a saleswoman in  their department store, falls in love with him of all people. When she finds out who Harry really is, whom she previously thought was also a penniless musician, their relationship is on shaky ground. Marriage between the two is unthinkable for a number of reasons, although Vicky is now pregnant by Harry.

    1. I am not sure it is, but that is what I am guessing. I mean who else could bring it?

    2. Ohhh Gattocito, don’t disappoint me. And me uncorking champagne already. There are two streaming platforms that could bring House of Dreams to USA. MHz Choice, but they are bringing less and less period pieces. So, my bet is on Water Presents that streams via PBS Amazon. Walter has been adding English subtitles to several German period dramas of late (Tannbach, Our Miracle Years and Ku’Damm).
Netflix on the other hand… They have the rights to Babylon Berlin’s 4th Season, but I don’t think they have the money to buy or produce period pieces. The one that alarms me is Disney since they bought the rights for Sisi and may start buying german stuff. Disney has become a barracuda. It swallowed Hulu, it swallowed Starz. In Latin America, you can’t acquire the Starz package via regular cable like I used to. You either get it via Disney or subscribe online to Starz Media and I hope one can watch it on a smart tv screen.

    3. Yes, MHz has switched over to police drama and forensic crap. Disney is the scourge of our days, no taste nor talent but lots of monies. And tons of unwanted wokeness.

    4. You said it, Disney has money and wokeness (wonder if they are sponsored by the Sorority), but so did Netflix once. The mighty doth fall. I’m about to flush MHZ down the toilet, but they had brought one period piece Paris Police 1900. After I finish it, I may consider dispensing with their services. They think Americans just watch police and forensic shows. What's RTL and Now?

    5. RTL is the German channel the series airs on, it is their most popular channel next to PRO 7. And NowTV or TVNow I forgot which is it, is their streaming platform, kinda like BBC Play or ITVX.
