Almost a queen... More than a queen... Diane de Poitiers is a formidable firebrand, an icon of fashion and power, and a free woman.
But has she ever looked old? Dad was her biggest fan in the 80s, but when he saw her in Bon Voyage (2003) he couldn’t believe it was her. She looked 25 and was in her late forties. Ohhh Hugo Becker looks even cuter than in Gossip Girl. Diane de Poitiers weld power in the French Court even before Henri was born (she was 20 years his senior) and she was instrumental in him marrying Catherine de Medici. So, it is coming on French television before 2023, it may clash with Starz’ biopic on Catherine. I wonder who will show this in USA.
Well, she has not but she is in those years when you should look older, she defo uses botox and whatnot. Hugo is ever so cute and hot. Speaking of Serpent Queen I will have a post on it tomorrow, you won't believe how ugly Diane is in it, left me shocked! We will probably never see this one, though, we haven't even seen Germinal nor Young Voltaire. And Germinal even won awards.
True, no Voltaire, no Germinal. I could predict that they will show up next year either in Tubi, MHz or TV Cinque, the French network that serves The Americas. They show everything but two years after their debut. Like Tubi finally bought Grozny, but it’s a 2020 show. Yes, Richard E. Grant, very fugly. Leslie Howard and Tony Andrews played a much better Sir Percy. it’s definitely Botox but of the best quality, not the kind that Angelina wears. Looking forward to your Medici report.
And even if they appear there it means not much to me as nobody uploads torrents from there, so I will probably never see them. I cannot even find second season of Godunov. It is on torrents but none of the links are active.
There is drama around Catherine, she cannot feel fine next to her husband's two lovers! Poor lass, no wonder she became one of history's biggest bitches.
I need to read some good books about Catherine. I'm getting more and more intrigued of her story. Do you recommend any that are entertaining and historically accurate?

Don't know who Catherine de Medic is, but the picture her wearing that red rope looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWell, famous queen of France, geez.

DeleteI’ll be honest and say the clip was a bit boring for me. Though the actresses are stunners!
