  1. Looking forward to this one! Apparently, it is the only reason I'm not unsubscribing from Netflix...yet

    1. It was so depressing reading what lies on Netflix this year, pretty much not much LOL But we do not know what surprises they have for us, you know how they sometimes stream foreign shows unannounced. I hate their secret plan to turn towards Asian projects, now they have in store some Korean zombie series... and for some reason people love that.... I don't understand it... we have tons of youngsters crazy about mangas in my country... I don't get it... why... how... Given how much they promote violence, it is almost as if satanism is stronger than ever before.... just look at the Squid Game...

    2. "Pretty much not much"it's a sad truth I’m counting on those European series, but I fear most will come from S. Korea. Reasons why those products are so popular? I can only talk about my country and USA. A) Rejection of Eurocentric values and Western Culture make people (especially the young) turn their eyes to entertainment from exotic places like Turkey or Far East countries. B) Although it sonds contradictory, deep inside they are attracted to everything Western culture rejects, namely patriarchal values. Japan, South Korea, and Turkey are very conservative countries that do not follow our Political Correction standards. That applies to their violent content that so appeals youngsters who find in this sort of shows a way to let out their repressed anger.

    3. I think the youngsters in the West have simply been raised in a surrounding that glorifies violence and tolerates it and that gave way to their blood, violence and aggression escapism. They've seen so much in Western video games and violence porn series such as Game of Thrones, that they have become totally insensitive to it and thus they love Squid Game and similar dangerous crap.

    4. I’m with you on the video games. As a teacher/librarian I noticed its harmful effects way back in the 90s. I wouldn’t blame GOT, that it’s a fairly recent phenomenon. Violent entertainment goes back to Tarantino and crime/gangster shows. But now we are facing a different animal with the Z. They are perpetually angry to the point they lack sense of humor. They are of the Greta Thunberg Ilk, think of themselves as victims of patriarchy and their elders in general, feel they have been robbed of something and in their militancy display senseless viciousness hiding under ‘sense of justice.” We’ve seen it in social unrest from Hong Kong to South America, from New York to Paris, and even their level of discourse is a display of aggressiveness and fury. No wonder, they find relief in these shows.

    5. Tarantino is the father of all evil, the Saruman of movie worlds, I think, and excuse my French, that he jerks to violence in his free time.
Generation Z scares me to no extent, and disgusts me as well. You've described them real well.

    6. And yet…I like him. In my list of villains he occupies a place way down the bottom. I guess it’s like Tzar Vlad Putin, he scares but fascinates me. Gen Z on the other hand terrifies me. That is the boogeyman looming in all our horizons, because those would be the doctors, lawyers, politicians, legislators, the ones that would look after us (or not) in our old age.

    7. Whaaaat is there to like about him, pray tell me, sistah? :)
I'm worried a bit about batyushka Vlad these days, they are so manipulating with the info in the media currently and portraying him as a villain visa vi Ukraine even though it was NATO who put thousands of their soldiers and bases around Mother Russia. Imagine if Putya did that around USA.
Just imagine having Greta as your surgeon, she'd yell at you before and after the surgery for ruining her future for reasons unknown!

    8. Well, Bro, now that you ask, …the reasons why I like Vlad apply to Tarantino as well. They have a pair of…they have guts. Quentin picked up from where Robert Rodriguez left and dared to bring the style to completion. I don’t like everything he’s made, but when I do is because he writes/directs funny, quotable, and original material. He has taken B entertainment and in parodying it he’s managed to create, perhaps not art, but artsy cult stuff.
The Ukrainian business has me really worried, so I’ll tiptoe around it. My former fiancée, whose family comes from the region and its savy on its history says Russia will invade and annex the Ukraine because its ha always been part of the Empire. After that, since nobody will stop the Russian advance, everything will go quiet on the eastern front again. But didn’t they say the same thing about Poland 80 years ago?
Since last year I have become (as you know it) an addict of Russian period pieces, and lately I have watched Estonian, Polish, and even a Finnish thriller) spy yarns all set in the first half of the XX century. That gave me a taste of geopolitics. If this is all about what greater Russia once owned, next they’ll march into the Baltic countries and eventually claim Poland. We’ll have a cozy little war again. And we no longer have strong leaders like Roosevelt, Churchill, or De Gaulle (or yor Tito) to put an end to it.
Greta surgeon? Please, don’t give her ideas. The horror! The horror!

    9. I shall forever hold against you your love for Tarantino LOOOOL
But Poland was not populated by Russians, the parts of Ukraine Russia deems theirs are very much so, predominantly so, like Krimea was and is. It is much more logical and reasonable than USA invading countries for oil. I do, however, wish they rather deal with Belarus and get rid off the nasty Lukashenko tyrant, that one is crazy, sick and dangerous.

    10. Let Tarantino be our bone of contention. Totally agree on Lukashensko's deportation to a far far galaxy. Won't talk more about war. I don't want to jinx any peace talks that may be taking place.

    11. I hear the peace talks have already been broken off.

  2. The only thing I like about this show are the man buns!

  3. They seem too put together and polished to be Vikings. Unlike Jax, those man buns aren't doing it for me. They look more like liberal artists than warriors.
