BRADLEY COOPER TO PRODUCE
HYPERION MOVIE ADAPTATION
It was originally set at SyFy as a series, but now Bradley Cooper will produce a movie adaptation of Dan Simmons' HYPERION sf saga for his newly founded production label. Tom Spezialy is penning the story set 700 years after the death of Old Earth, where the entire galaxy is at war. Seven
strangers set forth on a journey to unlock the mysteries of the planet Hyperion’s Time Tombs — each convinced that they alone carry the key to saving humanity. As Deadline reports, Hyperion Cantos series includes Hyperion (1989), The Fall of Hyperion (1990), Endymion (1996) and The Rise of Endymion (1997).

devastating death of her husband. She inherits his cork factory and begins to form an unexpected, highly charged relationship with his enigmatic co-worker, igniting repressed imagination and passion, and discovering unknown truths about both herself and her late husband.

A SPY AMONG FRIENDS

BritBox has revealed first look at their new six episode series A SPY AMONG FRIENDS which follows the defection of British intelligence officer and KGB double agent, Kim Philby (Guy Pearce),
through the lens of his complex relationship with MI6 colleague and
close friend, Nicholas Elliott
(Damian Lewis). The Fall 2022 show examines
espionage through their friendship, the fallout of which affects
East-West relations to this day. Philby was a British spy who defected
to the Soviet Union in the 1950s, betraying secrets to the Russians in
the early years of the Cold War. He and Elliott entered the spy game together, but as they rose through the MI6 ranks, Philby turned double agent.

I like Bradley Cooper and this sounds good so I could see myself checking that out.

DeleteI have the biggest crush on Edgar Ramirez!!!! Normally I'd stay away from such a sad plot, but I'd watch him in almost anything.

DeleteI read the Hyperion Cantos and loved them. We'll see if they can be a good movie, too...I do hope so!

DeleteAlthough I didn’t read Hyperion, the premise seems interesting but we shall see if Bradley Cooper can give us a Home run with this one. I like poetry and am looking forward to seeing Gugu Mbatha Raw in something new. Is Britbox available in the states? I’d be up for watching the double agent/spy series :)
ReplyDeleteI am not sure but I think it is available. They stream BBC and ITV programmes and some of their originals as well.

DeleteOh, to have to wait a full year to see A Spy among Friends, and then to have to subscribe to BritBox.
ReplyDeleteThey really did push that one far away and it is not like BritBox has much to offer in the meantime when it comes to new programmes. Their The Beast Must Die was painfully boring dull as watching paint dry with unlikeable characters.
DeleteA Spy Among Friends is one I think Jason and I would like. We don't have Britbox, but I'm sure I'll be able to find torrents of it, or at least I hope we can!
