JUDE LAW TO STAR AS HENRY VIII IN FIREBRAND, MICHELLE WILLIAMS AS HIS LAST WIFE QUEEN CATHERINE PARR! SEE JAKE MCLAUGHLIN, KATHY BATES IN POWERFUL DRAMA HOME

  FIREBRAND EPIC THRILLER
JUDE LAW IS HENRY VIII
I've already told you that Michelle Williams will play Catherine Parr in FIREBRAND historical thriller and now Jude Law has been crowned as Henry VIII! By the time young Catherine Parr married the deteriorating,
Jude Law has already played Henry V
increasingly despotic King Henry VIII, she had no assurances of a happy marriage; in fact, she had no assurances of surviving this marriage at all. Of her predecessors, two were thrown out, one died in childbirth and two were beheaded. While Catherine tried to keep her head about her to navigate the politics of her position, she brought a secret agenda. She was Protestant, believed it her duty to marry Henry, for it would be the only position in which she could convert him, and the kingdom, from his pro Catholic position. That faith was tested when the church resisted granting his divorce from his first wife so he could marry Anne Boleyn, who would later be beheaded. With arrests, torture, and executions of Protestants on the rise, Catherine invited a dangerous game that
Michelle Williams will play Henry's last wife Catherine Parr
would leave one of them dead before long. The thriller is told through Catherine’s singular point-of-view of the psychological horror of living with a monster and the remarkable will to not only survive, but thrive.

SEE JAKE MCLAUGHLIN & KATHY BATES IN THE LEAD ROLES
Home is out on VOD and cinemas December
We don't have an English language trailer yet, but you can check out the German one below as it is a directing debut of Franka Potente and it is out in US December 3rd.  It tells the story of Marvin Hacks (Jake McLaughlin), who comes home after spending more than 20 years in prison to find out that, even after two decades, his small American hometown has not forgotten the atrocity he committed. Despite the confrontation and hostility from the locals, Marvin will do what it takes to win back his place in society. He is welcomed back to his shabby, run-down family home by his terminally ill mother, Bernadette (Kathy Bates) and her male nurse and companion, Jayden (Lil Rel Howery).

  1. My first thought was "Is he wearing some weird sort of American flag ensemble?" and then my second thought was "..but it totally works on him!". LOL Say Jude Law and I'm in!

  2. As a Tudormaniac. I'm bound to watch it. I like Catherine Parr, and I guess they'll be more partial to her than they'll be in Becoming Elizabeth

    1. I liked Joely Richardson as Catherine in The Tudors. Unusual that they picked Jude so hot, as Henry was at that age fugly as hell and sick as a drunk seal.

  3. I love Kathy Bates, but Home looked a bit too slow for me.

And we love us some Jude Law and anything having to do with Royalty, so I am all in for Firebrand.

    1. I like McLaughlin, there is something very nice in him. But I was never a fan of Franka Potente.
