THE WINTER OF LOVE & DRAMA
The 20th century is just around the corner. In winter, St. Petersburg
transforms into a fairytale-like wonderland where frozen rivers and
canals bustle with festivity. The city is home to 18-year-old Matvey who
works as a delivery boy at a famous local bakery. The son of a poor
lamplighter, his only treasure is a pair of silver-plated skates he
inherited from his father.

Meanwhile, a high-ranking official's daughter
Alisa is feeling like a prisoner in her father's mansion after being
offered to become the wife of the Grand Prince. One day their paths
cross. Each has its own difficult story, but once faced, they rush to a
dream together.
Sure looks like a movie that a lot will enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHope corona will allow for a decent success in cinemas. For some reason this one wasn't pushed for next year like Little Humpback Horse.
DeleteThat does look absolutely stunning. Forget the movie, can I live in the setting?? At least, until COVID ends?? LOL Our cinemas are nonexistent here and I don't think they'll ever make a come back. No one can afford the high prices these days nor can we afford the health risks.
ReplyDeleteYes, especially now that Worner Bross. has stabbed them in the semi/dead back by sending their movies to HBO Max. Our cinemas and theatres are exempt from the nongathering rules, but you need to wear a mask of course.

ReplyDeleteIf cinema does ever make a come back, I hope they learned that we can live without them, so they better lower their prices. It's ridiculous how much it costs a family of 4 to enjoy 2 hours at the movies these days. I, personally, would rather sit on my comfy couch with Jason, not having to crane my neck over a fat head in front of me just to see the screen. Not to mention the loud chewing, talking, and people kicking my seat. It's not such a fun experience, especially when you have to go broke for a little outing.
On top of all that, our cinemas also smell LOL I'm guessing they have to make their prices so high because studios take a lot of money from them, but maybe not.
DeleteThey do say that the studio takes the money from the film and the cinema makes their money from selling snacks. Both film and snacks are way overpriced. I can rent a DVD from Redbox for $2 and get snacks for less than $5 for the family. Sure beats the $75 you would pay in a stinky theater for a family of 4.
