  ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE

Well, I did always wonder how she did not get a series before, being the mother of Richard the Lionheart and John Lackland, the wife of two kings and witness to so many major historical events. As Deadline reports, Starz has

optioned the rights to historian Alison Weir’s biography ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE: A Life and its companion novel Captive Queen for the first series which will be written by Cranford's and Discovery Of Witches writer Susie Conklin! Eleanor of Aquitaine was one of the great heroines of the Middle Ages, born in 1122 and dying in 1204. She was queen of France and England as a result of her marriages to Louis VII of France and Henry II of England and was independently the duchess of Aquitaine. Together with Playground Pictures, Starz is planning a whole slate of series based on the lives of female historical figures.

  3. But wasn't Starz preparing something about Elizabeth I? I just hope Starz won't end up with a mess like they did with The Spanish Princess

    1. Yes, Becoming Elizabeth. Spanish Princess was their biggest mess after Camelot, methinks.

    2. At least Camelot was a fantasy. The Spanish Princess is getting to be like The Crown, good at defaming real people.

    3. I watched just five minutes of Crown and quit and erased all the files in the computer with it LOL Hearing just a few seconds of their fake accents was enough for me. I hear they are spewing lies in this season too and Harry the Idiot still takes $100 million from Netflix who is literally trashing his own parents. They are all a bunch of royal idiots, although I do love Charlie and Camila.

    4. Charles and Camilla are the ain target this Season. Peter Morgan and his name have an agemda and that is Down with the Monarchy! British public opinion has gone over to the Cornwalls and that is bad fpr anti-monarchists so they need to demonize them.

    5. Being British in heart myself, I think most people in UK actually love Charles and Camila, especially after seeing how down to earth they are and hardworking too, so the Cornwall thing is just the media sucking up to the idiotic youth. Most Brits are aware that Wills is almost as immature as his moronic step brother Harry :) He uses his daddy's money just as much as Harry does and unlike Americans, Brits see everything and are not so gullible. I'm against Wills and Kate after they took George hunting and shooting birds a few months ago. That was so nasty. Give me Danish royals any day...

  4. These both look good, but I'm especially excited for Roald and Beatrix. I've read all of his books several times!!

    1. It is very unusual seeing Dawn French so old and without make up. Time is really passing by quickly, she is actually and older lady now, but she always wore glitzy hairdos and make up in order programmes so we haven't noticed until now.
