'ROBIN HOOD' REMAKE
DISNEY RETURNS TO SHERWOOD
Beside sending some of their new films directly to Disney +, Disney is also planning new movies which will be produced solely for their streaming
service. The latest announced is the remake of their famous animated adventure ROBIN HOOD which will be live action with animals done realistically with the help of CGI just like in their Lion King recent remake. Carlos Lopez Estrada has been set as director of the remake which will also be a musical. The highly praised and loved 1973 classic had Sherwood forest populated by heroes from the popular legend but in the form of delightful animals such as foxes, turtles, bunnies, bears, badgers, wolves, roosters and lions. It also left behind a lot of popular songs and one was even nominated for an Oscar. Lady and the Tramp already had its Disney + remake last winter and the same writer will pen Robin Hood too.

This was one that I never got into as a kid, but I might still give it a try. However, I have heard that Lady and the Tramp live version was not good, so I'll wait to see what others are saying first.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen it as it was way before my time, but I've always had a feeling I'd like it as it sounds very British. I don't think any of Disney's remakes has been good.
DeleteThey are hit or miss. I didn't like Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella. Dumbo was okay (though I know some hated it). I loved Aladdin. Lion King would have been better without Beyonce, but still wouldn't have been anything to write home about.
DeleteThey just keep pushing them onto us like there's no brain left on Earth to come up with something original. These new generations will leave shit to the world once they're gone.

DeleteMy daughter and I really enjoyed watching Lion King realistic remake and Lady and the Tramp so we look forward to watching Robin Hood with her. The last Robin Hood version I've seen was the one with Taron Egerton but I'm sure this Disney version would be more child friendly.
ReplyDeleteUnlike most people, I actually liked the Taron Egerton version, it was very dynamic and did not make me bored, unlike King Arthur with Charlie Hunnam which was atrocious.
DeleteEven Charlie Hunnam wasn't enough to keep me watching that hot mess. I shut it off about 30 minutes into the film, which was 30 minutes too long in my book.
DeleteIt was horrid, and so is Love Wedding Repeat, OMG that one was physically painful to watch and I felt deeply offended by it when it ended. How dare they offend my posh taste with such garbage. I felt ashamed by it while watching it. Even blushing and then turning green at some scenes... or almost all of the scenes... I think the screenplay was written by somebody who hasn't been effed properly in decades... if ever.
DeleteI'll definitely skip that one then. Sounds like it has some very distasteful potty humor. Probably attracts the younger crowds though.
DeleteYou cannot even imagine how potty, I felt like I needed to bathe after watching it, it is so filthy. And in a very very very immature way as if it was written by Beavis and Butthead.
DeleteLike Theresa, I never liked this one as a kid. My mom bought it for my son last year, so we sat down and tried to watch it again. Now that I'm older, the movie is quite sad!

I haven't, but I haven't watched Moana.
