A whole slate of British actors has joined Colin Firth in new WW2 movie OPERATION MINCEMEAT which will now also have Matthew Macfadyen, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn and Tom Wilkinson, alongside Kelly Macdonald, Hattie Morahan, Simon Russell Beale, Paul Ritter and Mark Gatiss! Set in 1943, the story of the film revolves around two brilliant intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu (Firth) and Charles Cholmondeley (Macfadyen) who conceived a plan that was dubbed Operation Mincemeat. They would trick the Nazis into thinking that Allied forces were planning to attack southern Europe by way of Greece rather than Sicily. Their plan was to get a corpse, equip it with misleading papers, then drop it off the coast of Spain where Nazi spies would take the bait. John Madden is directing the adaptation of Ben McIntyre's book.

  1. "Operation Mincemeat" seems to have a very good ensemble of actors (Colin Firth..).
The movie sounds like a british gem of humor intended perhaps to mock the secret service. The story upon which it is based is rather absurd (using a corpse to fool the Nazis during the war).

  2. Yikes, operation Mincemeat sounds like a an operation that I would never, ever want to be a part of without actually knowing details of the op. lol I'm all in on that film. What a different time to be alive to so easily get a corpse?!

  5. The Last Knight looks delightful. I wonder if they will steam it on Disney+. I haven't looked deep enough into their platform to see if they do include their foreign films with the service. Though, December of next year is an awful long wait!

    1. Try to see if they have the first part LAST KNIGHT from 2017. Yes, I thought this one was out this December and then realised this is the first initial preteaser :) I loved all Russian movies I watched t his year.

    2. Just searched for Last Knight and it was a no-go. Seems like they don't have foreign films on the service yet. They are very slowly rolling everything out, so it could be months or even years before they get off their butts and put the foreign up. I am super disappointed, but in all honesty, I am mooching off my best friend's account right now to see if we use it enough before we get our own account. So far, the content does not justify us spending for another streaming service.

    3. Disney also had a discount on cyber Monday just like Hulu on Black Friday :) I don't really like Disney, I think Disney is nowadays devil's service :) so I'd never buy it myself. Our cable service just cut about ten channels, so my mother is pissed off and so is half of the town. I don't watch telly so I don't care LOL

    4. That's too bad for your mom. I don't watch telly either, but my mom does too and man does she get pissed when they cut her programming too. She called me last week and wanted to complain for over an hour about how the impeachment hearings are ruining her soap opera watching LOL

    5. Oh, the impeachment, that is such a massive worldwide embarrassment for your country. They cut our channels because one of them is against our dictator and he wants to shut them down.
