the new big screen version of famous SINBAD and the shooting should start early next year. Francesco Lucente, who also wrote the script, will direct the movie which should have a total budget of $120 million. As you know, the Middle Eastern story of SINBAD chronicles the travels of a brave fictional sailor who made seven voyages encountering magical and supernatural beings. Earlier this year there were also rumours that another studio, Millenium Films, is also planning The Legend of Sinbad film with Frank Coraci at the helm. That one will have a Middle Eastern cast and was shopped this year at Cannes.

    1. I hope we get at least one of them. I remember Sinbad TV series with Zen Gesner some twenty years ago, from the decade of Xena and Hercules :)

    2. I never did watch any of those. Saw Xena was on one of the streaming services and thought about starting it not too long ago, but by the time I actually do, they'll probably have it removed and I'll be out of luck.

    3. Xena is too outdated for watching now, deary :) but she was all the fun back in the days of cheap crazy shows, she's the Fuller House of epic shows LOL

  2. I guess Sinbad the sailor , is still a great popular hero in the Middle East, symbol of the region's seafaring part in 'the Arabian Nights' stories.

    The early version of the movie had actors like Maureen O'Hara, Anthony Quinn,Douglas Fairbanks Jr.

  5. I never heard of Sinbad the Sailor, but with all of the money they are investing into the film, it will hopefully be amazing!

    1. Whaaat? You haven't? He is the most famous character from 1001 Arabian Nights beside Aladdin. Sailing the seven seas comes from his story.
