TRAILER FOR VIRGINIA WOOLF LESBIOPIC VITA AND VIRGINIA WITH GEMMA ARTERTON, ISABELLA ROSSELLINI, RUPERT PENRY JONES

  'VITA & VIRGINIA' TRAILER
PREDICTS THAT POPULARITY WAS NEVER A SIGN OF GENIUS
It is as bland as Elizabeth Debicki's poor efforts in expressiveness, but here's the first trailer for period set lesbiopic VITA AND VIRGINIA a true
Their affair apparently inspired Woolf's Orlando
story (or so they say) about the love affair between socialite and popular author Vita Sackville West and literary icon Virginia Woolf. Also starring Gemma Arterton, Rupert Penry Jones, Isabella Rossellini, the film hits cinemas this June and July in Europe, with US internet release in August.
VITA AND VIRGINIA is a love story of the affair and the friendship between writer Virginia Woolf (Elizabeth Debicki) and aristocrat Vita Sackville West (Gemma Arterton). In 1922, when Vita receives an invitation her paths crossed in Bloomsbury with Virginia. Their romance overcomes all social boundaries, Virginia's mental health struggles with Vita's recklessness and neither will ever be the same without the other.

  1. Isabella Rosselini reminds us of her magnetic mother Ingrid Begman. The love affair between Ingrid and Roberto Rosselini was also not a conventional one; it was considered scandalous.

Now, Isabella plays in Vita and Viginia the role of Vita's "stern and disapproving" mother (I've looked it up).

    1. Yes, she is now at that age when she will probably only play mothers.

  2. You had me at "lesbiopic," LOL! I am very much looking forward to this movie. I've long been fascinated by the Bloomsbury Group and, of course, by Virginia Woolf. The current thinking about her is that she was not really heterosexual, bisexual or lesbian, but more asexual. In addition to her mental illness, she'd also been sexually abused as a girl which can leave lifetime scars.

    1. Wasn't it so very smart of me to come up with lesbiopic? ;) Did you watch Life in Squares mini series a few years ago?

  4. I don't think it looks terrible. It's not one I'm going to rush to see, but I wouldn't mind having it tucked away for rainy day boredom busting.
