Hulu has released first, very colourful, teaser for the third season of their epic TV series
HARLOTS which arrives July 10th with new episodes. The cast is now joined by
Alfie Allen as a new pimp Isaac Pincher who wants to take over London now that he's back after fighting in the Seven Years War.

DeleteAlthough prostitution has been made illegal in many countries, it's nevertheless a reality of life, a depressing and distressing reality.
ReplyDeleteGovernments turn a blind eye to it, society is not looking for a way to deal with it.
I may be able to watch a documentary on the subject , but I find it difficult to watch 3 seasons of episodes on pimps and brothels, even though the action takes place in the 18th century. Definitely not my cup of tea.
The episodes are quite dynamic, it is more about plots and intrigues than about sex, the idea of the series is that Harlots were probably the women with most freedoms at that time as noble women were governed by their families and poor ones had to slave and toil. This is why Lady Fitz often envies the harlots among her friends as they are free unlike her. It is a very interesting idea.
DeleteI don't see anything bad in prostitution if it is a clean and legal business and if those who work in it love it and enjoy it. If one is good in bed and can separate emotions from sex, why not offer one's expertise to the happiness of others? This is why it should be legalized, so that it can be clean and safe job far away from dark allies and vicious pimps.
"..Women with most freedoms .." - well I'm not for that kind of freedom; it's degrading and disturbing.
DeleteI also think prostitution should be legal if done in a clean and safe environment with proper health screenings. I mean, how many men and women use someone to climb a social ladder or have sugar daddies and mamas not for love but for money and gifts. Nobody bats an eye when that happens.
ReplyDeleteYes, I just don't think anyone should ban anyone from having sex for money if they chose too. There are so many people who are amazing at sex and like giving pleasure to others, why should they not have it as their profession, I don't see anything degrading in adoring somebody's body :) It is the same as going for a massage or to a gym.
