Lovely Mackenzie Foy, who played the lead role last winter in Nutcracker and the Four Realms, will lead another family adventure. She will star in BLACK BEAUTY for which Kate Winslet will lend her voice. To be directed by Ashley Avis, who also wrote the script, it is a story based on Anna Sewell’s best selling novel about the deep and enduring bond between a 17 year old girl and the wild horse who helps her overcome the trauma of her loss following her parents’ death. Foy will play Jo while Winslet will lend her voice to Beauty as Variety reports today.

Screen Daily, meanwhile, reports that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will lead new period set movie LET ME COUNT THE WAYS Bjorn Runge's (he did Glenn Close's Wife last year) movie on poet Elizabeth Barret. Set in the mid 19th century, the film will follow the courtship of poets Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning. After gaining worldwide fame for her poetry, Barrett, fragile and weakened by a mysterious illness, lives as a virtual recluse in London. When the youthful Browning brings renewed sensuality and passion to her life, her widowed father Edward fights to keep his control over her. The title comes from her poem How Do I Love Thee? Let Me Count the Ways.
