The Lion King opens up July 19th in USA
After a couple of gorgeous teasers, Disney has finally released the first full trailer for their live action version of THE LION KING which is currently looking to become the king of theatre jungle when it starts roaring in cinemas worldwide this July!

THE LION KING
takes us to the African savannah where a future king is born. Simba (Donald Glover) idolizes his father, King Mufasa (James Earl Jones), and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Mufasa's brother, and former heir to the throne, has

  1. I think they probably did a much better job with The Lion King than they did with Aladdin. While I feel ehhh about what I've seen of Aladdin so far, everything I've seen about Lion King has me itching to see it as soon as it's out. It looks fabulous!

    1. I think it will be a hit if the story is not too boring, Disney does not really know how to make their movies short, fun and concise. Mary Poppins was boring as eff.

    2. You are right about the length of them being a bit too long for my liking. I'm usually ready to clock out after about an hour and 20 minutes on anything that I am watching. While I liked Dumbo, it was itching for them to wrap it up. The one I watched before that, The Nutcracker, was visually stunning, but also boring AF! I do think the upcoming Toy Story won't be so bad though. They tend to throw a lot of humor in those films (love me some Tim Allen humor!) so I don't get so antsy at their length.

    3. yes, Nutcracker was also nutcrackingly boring, because they brought Joe Johnston in to ruin Lasse Hallstrom's work. Tim had a TS joke in one of the latest LMS episodes, it was hilarious.

  2. Lovely trailer! I like the landscape scenes emphasizing the balance in Nature. Simba looks cute, the music promising!

The Lion King 2019 is a remake of a classic hit expecting the approval of a contemporary audience. Well it's certainly going to get it.
